Early Access Review
OWSC games are a mix between insanely fun and overly tedious. On one hand you have some really cool concepts in; building, crafting, and fighting. On the other hand you have chopping trees, grass, or other items just to build a home that is safe can be dreadful, boring, and loathsome. Especially when you're miles from your base and you die.

Then you have Abiotic Factor. A game which focuses on crafting and exploration more than building a base with a roof over your head. Going from level to level, grinding out stats and just enjoying the world, creatures, and high stakes gameplay is absolutely wonderful without having to worry if your base is perfect. Or if you're going to lose everything once you die.

Abiotic Factor takes all the things I hate and removes them in favor of fun and adds another layer by being inside instead of in the woods, desert, or plains. Hopefully others take notice and start getting more creative.

It's good, definitely not the best. BL1 still holds the title, but my complaint isn't the dialogue (don't get me wrong, there are times when it goes on and on).

But the game just drags on endlessly at times. Worth it on sale? 100%.

I wish I could give it a mixed review;

The game itself is fantastic, gun play is simple, it's not CS but it isn't CoD/BF.
Maps are not CS laned nor so they can be really odd to figure out at first.
Atmosphere is simple, but again, it's fun.
It's like, hardcore CoD, Easy CS.

The bad;
The absolute trash side of a community.
You're going to run into some of the worst people. Racism runs rampant in the game. Making it hard to enjoy long term.
Yeah you can mute people, but jfc it's the worst kind of racism. If you can put up with it, and want something that isn't CoD, go for it.
If you can't, it's completely passable.

God I wish there was a neutral option;

Game play and graphics are fantastic.

Main story is actually pretty funny.

Universe is fleshed out (The worlds and planets).

BUT MY GOD THE SIDE QUEST AND DIALOG JUST DRAGS ON. FO:NV (Obsidian) didn't have characters ramble and ramble, and the story get's lost with the side quests. Obsidian needs to really look at this because it's how the game falls flat a bit. Buy it on sale, you'll be better off.

Great game, cozy to relax with.

9/10 (My issues lie in the end) but overall it's worthwhile.

It's overwhelmingly postive.

I'm not going to spoil it. Just play it if you like party based RPGs with a deep story.

Steam Deck user;

Game is fun, honestly it's worth the play like all the positive reviews have stated.

It reminds me of a mix between a deck builder and 10,000,000. Progression is unique and the town building is charming.

BUT; I cannot recommend playing on the steam deck. The resolution is 1280x720 for the standard load in. There is NO 1280 x 800. So some of the info you need is actually OFF the screen.
If you fiddle with the settings, you absolutely have to enter into Borderless Window (Which stretches the screen).

Secondly, I would LOVE to use my touch pad a bit more on this, but for some reason it locks out and you're having to move the analog sticks to get the touch pads to work. It would be great to just use the touch pad to just click and rearrange the backpack with.

While I'll personally continue to play (it's relaxing to me, what can I say). I cannot recommend another steam deck user to jump in expecting a crisp and clean experience until the developers review these issues.
