It might be more fun with 3 or 4 people.. or probably just more frustrating? Playing it co-op with a friend, I found myself just wanting to get it over and done with. Having played the two amazing co-op games, It Takes Two and A Way Out recently, this game was a real let-down. Now, obviously that's comparing apples to oranges (AAA titles vs. an indie game like Chained Together), but I just feel that all of the hype the game received was not really very well-deserved -- just a gimmick thanks to some streamers and YouTubers having a fun time playing it with an audience. The whole experience feels sloppily stitched-together; levels designed with little substantive thought with assets taken from various 3D libraries.. I may be totally wrong but that's definitely the sense I got while playing the game. Overall would recommend giving this one a miss.

A fantastic game with complex characters and a story line that rivals anything Disney has put out.

If you enjoyed Fallen Order, you'll enjoy Survivor even more. Everything Fallen Order did, Survivor just does better. Most of the doubts I had about buying the game (based on all the negative reviews from the obviously disastrous launch) were very quickly dispelled. Although decidedly not perfect, it is an excellent game in my opinion. As an elder millennial who has been an avid Star Wars fan since I was a kid, this game feels like an important piece of Star Wars lore, with Cal Kestis probably being my favourite Star Wars character so far. His journey and character is complex. He is continually dealt a terrible hand by fate, and yet always seems to find a way through his resourcefulness and willingness to bend the rules that the Jedi Order had previously so strictly imposed. I had the distinct feeling that the devs *knew me* and that this game was designed *for me.* The dry humour, the music tracks in Pyloon's Saloon, the quirky characters, the atmosphere, the challenging gameplay -- it all came together as a truly rewarding experience.

FYI, I had to reduce the difficulty from Jedi Master to Jedi Knight for two of the boss fights, and two of the combat Force Tears. The frustration can reach insane levels. Just do yourself a favour and reduce the difficulty for those fights. You'll know which ones I'm talking about once you reach them.

The level design on the main planet of Koboh is much more spacious, almost with an open-world feel at certain points (although it is obviously not an open-world game). Overall, the level design is intricate and beautiful, with an organic feel. There are certain areas where navigation using the map becomes tricky, but generally it's easier than it was in Fallen Order, which was actually my main gripe with that game.

The combat is way more varied with the different stances that unlock as the game progresses. The controls are somewhat clunky on keyboard and takes some getting used to -- I'm willing to overlook this as the game explicitly states that it's recommended for controller.

There are many bugs, but I did not encounter any game breaking ones, and my game only crashed once during my 67 hours of play at the time of writing.

My suggestion is to fiddle with the visual settings until you find a stable FPS. I had everything on low, except draw distance and foliage detail on high. Field of view on the 'widest' setting also felt right. I had VSync off and DLSS on 'balanced,' but it might be different for you. More optimisation wouldn't have hurt, but it was never so bad as to affect the experience for me.

Get EA Play and play it for a month or two. Whatever you do, do not speedrun this game -- savour it!

Early Access Review
Really fun game -- one of the best city builders I've played no doubt. Runs significantly better after the recent optimization update.
