After four long years, we finally get to play it. The new difficulty is quite challenging, bringing the resurrecting enemies from the hardest difficulties of DOOM and Duke Nukem 3D, arranged mode for the base campaign is quite fun with it's own new challenge of defusing bombs, and the new expansion itself is pretty great. As more retro shooters start maneuvering towards high-octane reflex-based combat systems that employees mechanics seen in DOOM Eternal, Ultrakill, and Turbo Overkill, it's great that we also get to see those rooted in the traditional style of the 90s (with some minor improvements to the formula) with games like Cultic (yes, I know it has kick-jumping to move faster) and Aftershock.

It's a great expansion, and I don't know what Voidpoint has on the docket for the future, but I hope to see more from this studio. They really don't make 'em like this anymore.
