After four long years, we finally get to play it. The new difficulty is quite challenging, bringing the resurrecting enemies from the hardest difficulties of DOOM and Duke Nukem 3D, arranged mode for the base campaign is quite fun with it's own new challenge of defusing bombs, and the new expansion itself is pretty great. As more retro shooters start maneuvering towards high-octane reflex-based combat systems that employees mechanics seen in DOOM Eternal, Ultrakill, and Turbo Overkill, it's great that we also get to see those rooted in the traditional style of the 90s (with some minor improvements to the formula) with games like Cultic (yes, I know it has kick-jumping to move faster) and Aftershock.

It's a great expansion, and I don't know what Voidpoint has on the docket for the future, but I hope to see more from this studio. They really don't make 'em like this anymore.

Rage 2 feels subpar, with every possible element unrealized to its full potential. It's not a bad game, but its nowhere as amazing as the initial fervor had lead many to believe.

The weapons are upgradable, but they upgrade to what feels like standard status, which in turn makes the combat feel subpar to standard. It's been compared to DOOM because iD helped. That's true, but it does not have the same love and care that DOOM 2016 saw. Scaling isn't dynamic, instead relying on the player to make the game more difficult instead of increasing the challenge naturally as they get stronger.

The post-punkalypse elements appear to have been added much later, and not as the original design. Nothing in the story except the very start feels punk, and it feels far too standard, might as well be Mad Max 2. The driving and vehicles are awful, even the auto-drive added later has difficulty using it.

The game sold poorly, and Bethesda has left it to rot. The second expansion is a paid Halloween event, and then cut support for it. It's still asking for $60, when it should be $30 standard now.

If you can get it on a deep discount (or if you got it for free on epic), it has its moments and can be a total riot. Rage 3, if it ever gets made, could very well become an amazing game.

You begin your journey as a murder hobo dressed in mee-maw's rubber duckies and end up as an absolute gore machine cosplaying Leatherface, electric-dashing through enemy ranks in pants that causes bleed when you summon Thor's fist with your demon dong gun.

Once you delve into crafting and mods, the death train never stops!

Early Access Review
As Produde (Prodeud?), your life is simple. You take a gun, or your fists I won't judge, and use it to turn every heretical abomination into a fine ruddy mush, all the while Andrew Hulshult thrashes sweet tunes.

Its a good time for everyone honestly

If you want the quick version, then the answer is Yes, Highly Recommended.

If you want the slightly longer answer, buckle up, because I did a little extra to answer the big question...

What is the difference between this version and the own I already possess or have access to?

Anyone who purchased the Founder's Edition, Big Box, purchased from Bandcamp/iTunes, listened to it on Spotify/Soundcloud or ripped it from the GRP file all have the same version; the one from the game. When listening to the soundtrack, different tracks will often leading from/into, which is great if you're listening to it without interrupts, but some also fade out as well.

What's in the game is what you get.

The Extended Edition changes that, having all songs fade out, removing the leading out/in and sometimes extended the songs to be longer (not copy/paste) and in one case doubled from 3:12 to 7:06 minutes. Most songs received an audio pass and sound more triumphant, punchier and more bombastic while keeping the overall feel of the songs intact. The three additional sounds aren't new, but enhanced nonetheless. Preparation is the sound before bosses, Bossish is a combination of all the boss-fight songs and Endgame is what plays at the end of a zone. Overall, fine additions that weren't available before, outside of the GRP file. Also, comes in MP3 and FLAC formats.

Overall, I feel it's solid, and the price tag is fair, as there's more than enough here to justify it.

If you've ever played any non-gimmick/demo FPP-Shooter in VR before, you've played Half-Life: Alyx. Yet where it differs is it's stellar execution; the AAA quality in it's graphics and storytelling, the length of the title and the interactivity in puzzles/combat make it a cut above the rest. Very few other titles can compare with this one in VR, and valve has once again raised the bar.

Simply put, DOOM (2016) sets a high bar for the FPS genre, and then DOOM Eternal rips that rung out and uses it to tear it's way to new heights. Looks astonishingly great, plays buttery smooth and is the proper sequel I was hoping it would be. I can't wait to play more!
