this game has an iron grip on me. it's utter insanity that i cannot recommend highly enough. it's as if crash bandicoot, wario, and ed edd n eddy had a crazy child that is utterly addicted to alcohol and satanism. i adore everything about this game. please play it. it's absolute insanity.

shadow generations is a triumph. sega has managed to put out genuinely not just one of the best sonic games of all time, but one of the best platformers in the past few years. levels have a lot of thought put into them with many routes that truly feel like an evolution of the branching pathways of 2D classic sonic games. the doom powers and chaos control are incredibly fun to use. the bosses and challenges are ridiculously fun, and it's really, really nice to get a lot of the series' lore presented in your face for the very first time -- calling back to even the most obscure sonic games that not that many people played (sonic rivals 2 on the PSP being part of the lore?? hello???)

despite some blemishes (namely stemming from sonic generations having some aspects of it not aging particularly well), this is definitely, 100% worth your money, and i'm genuinely thrilled to see where sega takes this franchise next if sonic frontiers and this is anything to go by

the one sonic game i can truly call a really, really bad game.

sonic frontiers has problems, but it's hard to give them much thought when you're busy zooming crazy fast through open-ended areas and fighting ridiculously over-the-top bosses to some of the hardest music that's been in a sonic game ever. a step in the right direction for the sonic series for sure

(quick notes: i beat the original version on PS4 years ago, and received remastered for free with my nvidia GPU)

I dunno what it is. Everytime I play Spider-Man, it absolutely lifts my spirits. I dunno if it's the high octane combat against baddies. I dunno if it's the fact that Peter is a super relatable character, with an incredibly take on his story by Insomniac. I dunno if it's just the overall theme of hope. Whatever it is, I'm thrilled that PlayStation's bringing games like this on PC, and I welcome it with the largest of open arms.

A Hat in Time scratches an itch that Super Mario Odyssey also scratched a year back. Solidly designed levels, an excellent soundtrack and a main character that controls like a dream. My only qualms are echoes from the 90's platforming era: an occasionally wonky camera and some levels that are more frustrating than fun. However, neither really quench the fun I've had and continue to have with this game.

This game is good. I was eating breadsticks and then the shopkeeper killed me. It's a lot of fun. I think.

Originally played on 3DS, got Steam version via Humble Bundle.

Very polished and good metroidvania with a solid cast of funny characters and tight, responsive controls and abilities. Game is legitimately fun and fun to explore. Music by Jake Kaufman is incredible, and has gorgeous pixel art. PC and console versions other than 3DS suffer from some art clash with resized assets, however. If you look past that, it's a pretty solid port of a really fun Metroidvania.

Great deal and great music, although there are missing tracks.
