It's unoptimized as a square wheel but I got it running 30-60fps with a 3060-12gb and old i7-3770K, on 1080p with varied high-low settings. It's playable enough to enjoy and finish while streaming. If you really need 2K-4K on high settings then wait for patches and config tweaks.

There are no "MTX" of note, there are DLC noob packs the same as Namco Tales games have but with items that actually don't matter at all because they're limited and consumable. They didn't even include the item that increases your carry weight, that would actually irritate intelligent players but it's not a thing.

Cool and responsive combat with creative options.
Organic map design with verticality and hidden loot.
Great sound design and voice acting.
Improved progression system from the first game.
Quests that let you play at your own pace and punish you when it's your fault.
If Capcom get the optimization going there'll be nothing to complain about.

edit- I upgrade my CPU and the game runs great.

Cleverly disguised turnbased deck builder, with many interesting mechanics and systems to get into. That's inside a sandbox world with a unique tile-based world building system that puts you in some control of the adventure ahead. NPCs are lively with relationships and broad interactions. There's leveling, crafting, building, exploring and questing. You can join a sect (guild) and advance in its ranks, with varied privileges.

The learning curve is moderate, it took me a few hours to fully grasp the combat system. All the systems have good tutorial explanations.

The graphics and art get the job done pleasantly. You don't end up seeing characters up close too often but they aren't oversimplified. The environment is detailed and textures well sized.

Sound design is appropriate though mostly you'll be hearing the BGMs and environment ambiance.

I'm impressed with the item/equipment effects variety. Items aren't boring like in most games, the effects vary greatly, are creative and viable.

The translation currently is sloppy but I haven't run into more than a handful of questions about what something does.

If you're willing to put some effort into learning the mechanics and are looking for a somewhat casual singleplayer sim-rpg, definitely give this a go.

FO4 + Skyrim + Mass Effect + NMS

Runs fine on medium in my budget rig of a 3060 + ancient parts and an SSD.

Has load hitching (old cpu bottleneck?) in Neon underside, and after 80h one single crash.

My design complaints are some of the perks not being worth the skill point, running between POIs being too slow (please add land vehicles), various items are too weak, and NPCs not having enough credits (need to wait 24h ingame to restock). Some areas like cave interiors are copypasted too noticeably. There's a starship that has items it shouldn't have in the lore. Ship modules that are purely decorative weigh too much, penalizing the stats if you want better ship shapes. Decorating housing has a primitive interface and limited selection.

It has big flaws but overall feels like the good parts of the aforementioned games with a lot of the bad stripped out. I like the gun combat (not the melee), am okay with the gun selection (not the melee), the perk system and the lockpicking. Dialogue is intuitive and the persuasion system works though it can be savescummed, like some loot. The quests are decently written, some are very short, some long, some repeatable. Voice acting is a huge improvement, so is animation. Crafting and building are intuitive and mostly polished.

  • Fairly unique sandbox RPG with a moderate learning curve.
  • You don't need to know about "Cultivation" to get into it.
  • Game elements are well explained.
  • Lots of RNG elements but the player has high control of their success.
  • Good customization in character editor and progression.
  • You can affect NPCs in many ways including making allies/rivals or destroying them.
  • Item gifting system lets you directly affect an NPC's progression.
  • Relationship systems and "natural" interaction between NPCs.
  • NPCs progress with time like you do, but there's not much rush/hassle to drag you down.
  • Surprisingly "living" world with competing groups that you can join yourself.
  • Somewhat minimal yet refined action combat that's easy to learn and master.
  • Many interesting activities to help advance your character.
  • High replayability. Multiple difficulties that are unlocked and playstyles to build for.

  • I am not personally concerned with modding, nearly all negative reviews are about how it's on a scummy site instead of Steam Workshop but there seems to be good news now about the dev's plans. I think the game is highly enjoyable for many hours without modding but would still benefit from it.

EDIT: They added proper Steam workshop so that's good too now.

2023 edit: Wow the reviews are still ruined. Do not believe the negative reviews. Read the launch fix, do it 1 time ever, enjoy the game. Every single user posting that they can't start the game, see a virus, or think the mod menu will steal their identity, should be contained in an internet-free environment with other paranoid bumbling husks. Depraved garbage posts are not reviews and should cost their Steam account.

Review for people who played the first game.

Many additions and improvements. More story and involvement of the player character.

Custom characters with a great editor and code sharing.

3 player coop. More NPC allies. Optional CPU allies of other players. Place your "summon" where you want.

Smithing is simpler, uses mainly umbracite. Underworld (Abyss) is streamlined and has progression upgrades.

Many new enemies, new bosses. Returning enemies with new moves.

Way more skills, including monster abilities, most enemies drop a unique skill for you to equip and use.

More weapon, ninja and onmyo skills! Progression advanced through usage and dealing damage.

New weapons! Dual HATCHETS you can throw, close quarters KNUCKLES and big SCYTHES for edgelords.

"Demon Parade" an arena mode with coop, introduces a new equipment slot and helps loot farming.

Super worth it, I enjoyed it more than the first game which was already my favorite ARPG.

My #1 favorite ARPG. Deepest and most flexible combat system among third-person games. Gameplay mechanics and replayable missions differentiate it from the "soulslike" genre.

Don't let the Diablo2 loot system or skill trees fool you, it's very difficult and temporary to gimp your character and you'll quickly learn inventory management just by reading the input tips. Nearly all items can be re-obtained and nearly all equipment can be extensively modified at the forge.

There are many character builds possible and that only expands into NG+ cycles. The NG+ system doesn't require full story completion, only a set amount of missions to open progression.

Don't listen to people complaining about the loot system, the filters and selection shortcuts make for very quick sorting, reading, locking and cleaning your inventory. Nioh's options menu is very extensive as well, make sure to use it to deeply customize your experience with the menus and controls. I take 0-2 minutes to sift through hundreds of items easily.

COOP multiplayer is 2 player and allows most of the story to be progressed without leaving the session, or if desired you can summon a volunteer for your current mission. You can also become that volunteer and queue for summoning to any mission, or to specific ones. There is also an endgame arena mode where 2 players can be summoned allowing for 3 player combat through increasingly difficult areas for special loot. Summoning assistance is never required, though greatly recommended to keep the community alive.

PVP is NOT forced and there is no drawback to avoiding it. It is in its own mode and its rewards are entirely cosmetic titles that appear on your graves when you die. When players die, at the location of their grave other players can summon an AI controlled copy ("Revenant") of that player and fight them for items similar to what they were wearing, as well as special currency and items required to summon assistance. Fighting Revenants often is great practice and loot.

This is a heavily knowledge-based game with a lot of emotional investment in playstyles. Many of the negative reviews you see are from fragile users who are upset about balance changes. This was posted at the time of a review bomb due to a rework and nerf of the current top weapons, as well as some collateral damage. Some are long reviews covered in attempts to veil their foundation. If you're intelligent and have any experience with games where items are occasionally or frequently buffed or nerfed, you'll be able to form much better opinions than you'll usually find in the reviews.

This is a stage farming game with a very similar gameplay loop to Vindictus. You do various missions to accumulate resources so you can craft things, as well as blueprints for the items. Often you'll need to repeat the same missions until you get all the parts required for a weapon, or a Warframe which are the playable classes. Usually the drop rates are reasonable, some are tolerable, a few are rude. Many items are able to be traded between players to skip finding them personally. None of them are mandatory to progress, only to get specific things you decide you want.

There is no mandatory PvP and it has nothing you will miss. There are several PvP modes a few people play and thankfully their rewards are only a few cosmetics. There are also several arcade minigames including a 1v1 fighting game you can challenge people to.

Account level, known as Mastery Rank, is progressed by ranking items up to maximum level, usually 30, as well as clearing each mission one time. There is no time-limited component, you can progress at your own pace. Accumulating enough XP unlocks a unique challenge mission which has one daily attempt and unlimited practice runs, clearing it grants you the next rank and unlocks more items for use.

The wiki (warframe.fandom) is extremely helpful and frequently updated, it will answer almost any question you may have.

The unofficial trading site (warframe.market) is the preferred method to contact users for trading and browse or create organized lists of items for trade.

Multiplayer is heavily recommended, playing in squads of up to 4 players makes missions much easier. Squads can be solo, private or public. Players stay in the squad until the host or they leave manually. Sessions are hosted on the slot 1 player's computer. Latency will be an issue depending on the host, so choose wisely.

You can trade with players for many items you'll want. The primary resource-currency is Credits. The premium, cash-purchased currency is Platinum. You can trade players your platinum for their items, or sell them your items to accumulate platinum yourself. Some players enjoy it enough they spend their time trading more than running missions. There are items to farm that will get you platinum very reliably.

Plat (platinum) is required for purchasing storage slots for your Warframes, weapons and other item types. You're given a non-tradable starter amount. It's highly recommended to spend it on slots.

You will also get slots from the entirely (0 cash component) free "battle pass" system as well as many other useful upgrades. It runs with more than enough time for the average player to 100% it. I was not a fan of the idea, now I find it acceptable as I've completed it very casually.

Grinding 7/10: It's the weakest point for me but I find it very tolerable. As a casual player there are no items I haven't been able to find or cheaply trade for.

Music and Audio 10/10: The game has very high quality and artistically impactful audio effects and music tracks, fitting their situations and environments. Some of the BGMs with singing are adored.

Performance 10/10: The game runs very well on mid-high settings, on this budget 1060-6GB and ancient i5 CPU.

Graphics 10/10: I think it looks amazing. There are sometimes too many particle effects but I'm surprised they don't drop my framerate much even at the worst. There are many subtle asset reuses but they're also creative. Areas are very atmospheric and detailed.

Combat 8/10: Sometimes chaotic and messy, often fights lasting moments. However, highly responsive and freeform combat. Melee weapons have different styles, some have unique moves. Weapons are impressively varied and many have their own unique moves too. It mainly makes you feel like you can mow down thousands of doods, and you actually can. Boss fights are sometimes bland with outdated mechanics but usually unique. You'll mostly get to see their unique movesets earlier into your progression. Later you'll often find yourself overpreparing and obliterating a boss with a massive crit, and/or blendering dozens of enemies with your flashy abilities.

Community 9/10: Every game has toxicity but at least here many players are eager to help with information, discuss anything or join you for missions.

Content Updates: 8/10: Usually small updates like one quest with new items. Finished very quickly. Sometimes large updates like a new region with new mission types that last you weeks or months. The game receives major reworks and looks nothing like how it started, it keeps evolving. It's also "still in beta".

Overall 9/10: Great game I've burned (myself) out on many times and keep coming back for new content.

Seemed like the devs did not expect its success and did not put serious effort into it for a long time, however they've come around to fixing bugs and I can't find any that aren't easily worked around after learning them, for example to avoid tribe joining messing with your tames, simply place and unclaim them all before joining the tribe, reclaim them afterward. Many newer features are fully functional and nasty bugs like portals freezing the client are gone, I haven't run into any trouble that wasn't my own fault.

New creatures can always be added but it's quite satisfying now, they bestiary is fairly large and varied. There are alternate/subspecies of many creatures and they're not a simple palette swap, they're a different model and have additional abilities, very satisfying.

I'm just getting into breeding creatures and that appears functional, however time consuming, yet satisfying and brings lets mundane/normal creatures catch up to the combat power of magical ones which cannot breed.

Performance requirement is POTATO yet I'm very okay with the graphics and how terrain renders at a distance. Creatures still pop in but their render distance can be quite far to begin with so that's okay.

I love Aria and Dawn of Sorrow, this takes those mechanics and takes them further.

Relative to Sorrow: Grind is faster, customization is larger, abilities are more endgame-viable.

You're given a large arsenal of very strong tools so you may find Normal mode far too easy, even with the strongest items locked till the last boss area. Unfortunately the higher difficulties are locked until the previous is cleared, but that's my only gripe.

Like many games, it could have been great, except like far too many games it's run by morons.

If you insist on trying it out, then get ready for:
a messy launcher
broken anticheat
bots>players market
terrible class balance
gender locked classes
heavy mandatory RNG for skill progression
character-bound items including ones you can never use or trade
permanent durability loss on all equipment, all the time
negotiating escorts on overworld to survive pvp ganks
jank movement mechanics, you'll notice how jumping has not been considered for combat
gigantic durability punishments for playing PvE
match scoring heavily biased toward AoE classes and punishes use of CC and siege

F2P enough, though one of the least satisfying ones I've put any significant hours into.

POSITIVES:
match autobalancing was alright
siege weapons very intuitive and satisfying
