Absolutely a hidden gem. A visually striking action battle RPG, with strong sandbox/emergent story elements. Easy mode is a fun stomp through Jianghu, and Chaos mode is a min/maxer's strategy fix.

The overmap evokes a hand-painted pinyin screen divider, and while the field battles are usually two-tone flat textures, you're thankful due to the sheer number of particles/swords/fireballs/palmstrikes/finger pokes you use to destroy old-school Final Fantasy-grade art enemies.

There's lots of different ways to play--you can be an isekai-life Rogue Cultivator free from the politics and danger living in a Sect brings. You can join a Sect and *create* that danger, rising to the top and becoming Grand Elder. You can adventure for herbs to make pills that produce dopplegangers of your enemies, and you can shove mythic creatures into a bottle and use them to beat the snot out of any who stand in your way.

its a game that i came to truly enjoy as i played it but i do wish there more things you can do with sects and that kinda stuff
