This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exhausting. I feel like I'm running in place, I'm financially stuck, my earnings aren't outweighing my losses, I can't find contracts for the factions I want to support and my lancemates are dumb as rocks. And I'll admit that half the time I don't even know what I'm doing, strategically.

But I can't stop shooting the big gun and the big laser and the big missile.

TL;DR: buy on sale only, and expect to negotiate with jank.

Soviet Russia BioShock with time-travel. It's... okay.

It has some good ideas, and some moments executed well, but I would say these days it's only worth getting on a good sale.

It's a dated game. In the case of technical aspects, I couldn't even get the game to launch until I manually ran a PhysX software package hidden in the install folder, in compatibility mode, followed by a PC restart. After all of that, the game finally launches, but it turns out that the game doesn't have a FOV slider, the Mouse Sensitivity slider doesn't do anything, and there are virtually no significant video quality settings to adjust. There are a few strange quirks in keybinds I'm not a fan of, like the Reload key doubling as the Interact key.

In the case of design, the visual art is solid, level design is solid, and areas are loaded with a good bit of details. The overall story and voice acting are as campy as anything else from this game's era. The systems of upgrading your weapons and your Time Manipulation Device are very simple, and lack in immersion where BioShock pulls it off better. You just collect nondescript doohickeys and turn them in at the nondescript doohickey machine.

I like it, but I don't love it. Worth a playthrough, but only buy it on a solid sale, like $10 USD or less.

This game is the real Blood 2. It has earned the title, it deserves the honors.
It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome.

Let's just hope this game isn't abandoned in development hell like many indie titles.

It's too detailed, too sterile, too derivative of all the old nostalgic beats we've already squeezed all the enjoyment out before Y2K even hit. The protagonist's personality pales in comparison to Duke, the obvious inspiration. Duke Nukem 3D didn't have a "Silent Protagonist" option in the Options menu. Why? Because he wasn't an annoying loser who people wanted to shut the hell up lmao.

Another boomer-shooter nostalgia cash-in that everyone looks at, raises a glass to, and then moves on. As of typing, 50 players worldwide according to Steam Charts. Numbers don't lie.

Let's face it, if you want to play a really great Build Engine game, get "Blood: Fresh Supply". It laps this game in every category, and did it TWO DECADES AGO. If this game is on sale, then Blood is likely also on sale; buy that instead.

Kudos to Carmack for busting his hump on making the game engine. Aside from that, this game is a bland-brown, weapon arsenal is boring & uninventive, the game is way too long, the enemies look like idiots. The bosses might as well be put-block-in-hole puzzles. In all ways except technical, this is a complete downgrade from Doom.
Quake II sucks much the same, but at least is has colors.

Only quality of this game is the cool & fun movement physics.

Truth hurts, boomers

At the time of writing this:
- Skyrim on Steam (special edition + original) has ~18,000 concurrent players.
- Starfield on Steam has ~12,000 concurrent players.

Dear Bethesda employees: Quit your jobs. Don't bother making Starfield DLC. Bethesda Game Studios' "first new universe in 25 years" and it's utterly flavorless, tiresome trash.

Millennial labor isn't worth money, I swear lmao
