The symbolism of the VHS tape effects and the player's constant dying and coming back build on the story's motif, being trapped the cycle of life and death.
The the pixal art is smoothly animated and the vibrant neon colors and dark shadows blend together to create a gritty yet beautiful. The story line alludes the Vietnam war and the lasting effects it has on the soldiers who fought it, reflected by our main characters tragic backstory and that he tries, fruitlessly, to resolve by killing.
