I had already HL2, Portal and the other Valve games. The two HL and Portal are affected by a big problem that makes them impossible to play for me: the visuals and movement speed cause me dizziness, I can't play for more than five minutes and I get headache. I don't have problems with other fps made with the Source engine, it's these three only.
I've installed the 25th anniversary edition to see if the devs had fixed this problem, but they haven't. I know that they are old games, but since they were improving it and fixing bugs, then they could have worked on this too.
I'm not the only one, there are thousands of comments on the web complaining about this problem. The HL series may be one of the best in the industry, but it has its design flows.
Adjusting the fov doesn't do crap, it's a combination of things that cause the motion sickness: the speed of the movement, the sync between the movement and the steps sound, the head fast movement, etc.
If you wanna try, go on, but if you start feeling dizzy, uninstall it right away: five minutes of this can mess you up for one hour.

Best racing sim ever.
Maybe it's a bit difficult to configure it, but once it's done it's love. So, if you are struggling, don't give up: ask for help in the official S397 forum, because it's worth it.

The game is ok, but the developer sucks. With the release of every new league, they nerf the builds that did the most damage in the previous league. If you want to try it, do it, but don't buy nothing from the game store.

[Update on 27 august 2022]
Well, things are now even worse. They nerfed the loot system to the ground and they killed the game once and for all.
These are probably the worst game developers I've ever seen.
Again, don't buy nothing from their store: they don't deserve it.

This update broke the physics of the game. Don't buy it unless the devs fix the problems. Most of the official trucks of the game and 99% of the mods are useless right now. Check the discussions to be sure that they fixed the game.

As for the DLC content: the Sherp comes in two version, one with a permently attached trailer and one without trailer. Both versions have 300 L fuel capacity.
The 10x10 version have two garage attachments: the traier with the crane and the garage trailer. First one can load only small logs, so is has a 2 points load. The Garage trailer has only 3 garage points, not the 4 needed to unlock garages.
The 10x10 doesn't have fuel attachments and depending on the situations can consume up to 20+ L per minute. As a conseguence is useless. Any 6x6 could do better for logging.
The 4x4 version instead doesn't have any attachments. No garage points, no repair points, no fuel cans, nothing. It can be used only as a scout.
Also, these two trucks have very poor tow capacity.

The E-167 truck is ugly as f*** and terrible in offroad. It's too long for this map and has the steering angle of the Titanic. Also, it has only three addons: 2pt garage trailer, utility trailer and short logs trailer. Useless and ugly.
As for the map, it's below average in my opinion. Quite boring for both logging and trailing, at least with the default trucks.
Yes, it's free, but I can't give a positive review. There are truck and map mods way way better than this content.

I played 500 hrs in Spintires , so I'm able to see if Mudrunner has introduced major improvements over its predecessor.
Well, in few words, I think that the developers played the cheapskate card making this game and I suggest you guys to buy this thing only if very very cheap, like 5€, and outside Steam.
It's basically a big Spintires patch. A DLC is supposed to expand the content of a game and Mudrunner is Spintires with just a different name and few tweaks. The game improves some things and make some others somehow worse. It doesn't introduce anything groundbreaking or fantastic. Hell, it doesn't even introduce new cars or maps.

The maps are the same of Spintires: the developers have modified them a bit and have made them easier. I think that they are way easier than the originals.
The cars are basically the same of Spintires, the new entries are few vehicles already present in the Spintires workshop as mods. In other words, nothing new.
The major difference that I noticed is that the water now is a bit more powerful. But, just to be clear, this can be done just changing few numbers in the xml file that controls its behaviour in game. So, it's not something that required many hours of work or of testing.
The camera system has been improved in some things: the camera now can be centered on the vehicle (for the people who like this) and there is a cockpit camera. But the cockpits aren't modeled in detail and the dashboard instruments are virtual. In this the modders show definitely more talent and passion, they spend time modeling the interiors of their trucks. The game developers instead to avoid this introduced a virtual dashboard. Freaking embarassing...
The gamepad support has improved, offering the ability to play the game entirely with the gamepad, without the need of the mouse or the keyboard. That's cool. But the player can't change the gamepad profile mapping the functions to different keys. And this sucks of course. The player can change the gears manually just like in the old Spintires, using the right thumbstick, but it's a bit of a mess. That's why the players need the ability to bind the buttons differently.
The winch is mapped to the gamepad, but when nearby there are many trees to which attach it, it can be tricky to attach the winch on the one you want/need. And sometime the player needs to attach the winch fast to avoid losing the vehicle. So this is something that needs improvements.

Visually I don't see huge differences, they changed some of the vegetation, the water seems a bit better, they improved the textures. But on this I could be wrong, because I never spent time looking at the graphic detail of the landscape in Spintires. The fact is, though, I don't feel a major overhaul over the previous game, I find them very similar on this aspect. Except in Spintires the mud looks better.

As for the modding support the game removerd the ability to have multiple tires compounds and this is beyond ridiculous. It's nonsense. The Spintires mods and original vehicles have different compounds to allow the player to choose the right tire for the kind of obstacles he has to pass, and this allowed the modders also to give their vehicles several visual customizations. This proves what I said before as for the maps: they dumbed down them, making them easier, so there is no need now to have multiple tires for the same truck. Now the modders that want to give their cars different tire compounds are forced to upload in the workshop two or more version of the same car, one with a certain tire, the other with a different one.
They promised map support in the workshop and this isn't happened yet.
The editor it's the same of Spintires: a mess.

Another thing: for Spintires the modders created a tool called "Spintires Plus" that was intended to give the players the ability to modify some featurs of the game (like turn on/off cloaks, enable battery powered winch, lock the time of the day, etc.). I was expecting to see some of these options introduced in Mudrunner as official options, too bad we don't have them.

My suggetsion is to wait for the game to become very cheap and for the introduction of the map support in the workshop. Right now isn't worth the full price.

Great game. Playdead developers confirmed to be the best indie developers of the scene. After LIMBO they delivered another great and original gaming experience, well done under every aspect.
Sounds, music, graphic, animations, atmosphere, level design, controls, puzzles... All great.
It's short, sure, and the way it ends is weird (:)), but for me was fun enough. I liked a lot.
If you don't have the money now, buy it on sale. It's definitely worth it.
This is the kind of developers who deserve to be supported.

Gran bel gioco.

Bought this game in 2017 and turned out to be better than what I was expecting.
I'm an Alien fan, so I'm always happy when I have to run around in an abandoned space station filled with monsters.
But the game is old and doesn't support high resolutions. I tried all the suggested solutions for the problem and none worked. I was able to fix the problem only installing the REDUX mod. This improves the overall quality of the game and, like I said, enables your monitor's native resolution.
Install the mod for the best gaming experience.
