Space Marine 2 has made me feel like a kid playing Halo 2 all over again. This game is just pure badass and has fully pushed me into taking the plunge into the Warhammer 40k universe,

Hunt: Showdown (1896) is an incredible breath of fresh air in a sea of mediocore extraction shooters. The game-play is based off of objectives and not loot like say Escape from Tarkov or Grey Zone Warfare. Really I can't think of any extraction shooters like this game except maybe Beautiful Light, and that's not even out yet. The game can kick your ass but not in the same way that Tarkov does. Hunt respects you and your time, which something that most in the genre do not do, Crytek has created something special that I don't think can be replicated. As extraction shooters come and go, I'll always come back to Hunt Showdown. If you like shooters, extraction or otherwise, this is a must have.

The following is a review for the 1896 update specifically:

Almost every single change with the update is fan-freaking-tastic. The audio is better than it's ever been; the gun-play is meatier, the cheating is non-existent at least for me, the balancing feels just about perfect for this game. Honestly, Hunt has not been in a better place. My only complaint is that of everyone else's, the UI/UX. It's incredibly annoying and not intuitive, it's like they go their inspiration from Windows 8. I don't think it's so bad though that they game deserves to be at mostly negative which is partially why I wanted to write this review to combat the negativity. The game is worth it just bite the bullet on the UI for a little bit.

Monster Hunter is a series I have avoided for years, not for any particular reason, just something I thought I would never really enjoy from what I saw. How wrong I was to think that.

Monster Hunter World opened my eyes to the deep combat, excellent monster design, wonderful community, and rich atmosphere this series has to offer. I love this game with all my mind, body, and soul. I haven't felt such a joyous feeling from playing with friends and strangers since I was a kid playing Halo Reach on my old Xbox 360.

This game in particular has something the other Monster Hunter's do not have, including Rise, and that is the feeling that YOU are a hunter. The Ancient Forest has so much immersion than all of Rise's maps combined. Not to say that Rise is not good by the way, it most certainly is. If you enjoy deep combat, hunting monsters, and playing with one of the best communities in the gaming world then you MUST play this game.

The only thing wrong with this game is that the story is kind of mid (until Iceborne) and you can't skip cut scenes, other than that an easy 9/10 for me.

You are actively doing yourself a disservice by not playing this game. Do yourself a favor when you are starting out though. After completing the somewhat obnoxiously long intro, go into the practice range and test out different weapons and pick one that seems to click the most with you. After that look up some videos on how the weapon works and what you can do to be a more efficient hunter.

Good Hunting!

After doing every single challenge and 100% achievements for this game I can safely say that they nailed this RE:Make. 4Make is probably now in my top 10 video games of all time and fixed almost every issue I ever had with the original, which I still love very dearly by the way. The characters are written better, the gameplay is somewhat survival horror now, and the semi backtracking makes learning the maps super fun. If you are a fan of Resident Evil and/or a fan of the original RE 4 then its an absolute no brainer.

Now all Capcom has to do is make Code:Veronica and make it fixed camera and I'm a happy buttery boy.

This game is way too short to be it's own game. It really should have been DLC but I guess Bethesda will milk you wherever they can. That being said the short time I did play this was very fun, after playing the first and second game it was nice to see a lot of loose threads get tied up. Being able to use Void abilities pretty much whenever was cathartic after being so careful with mana resource in the first and second game. Worth a pickup but try to find it on a sale or in a bundle from another site.

Compared to the first game, Dishonored 2 has way more variety in terms of powers and weapons. The levels feel about the same size but there is a lot more packed into small places than the first. This game succeeds the first in every way except story. The story is not bad by any stretch of the word, but it's kind of a repeat of what happened last time in terms of what you are fighting for and getting back a family member. While that may drag the intensity of the stakes down, the characters and dialogue really save the story to be much more engaging.

You can pick between playing Corvo and Emily, it's very clear that the devs want you to be Emily but the way I see it why wouldn't I pick the guy that I played last time and feel more invested in. Not to say that Emily isn't a intriguing character but I feel more attachment to Corvo. Which leads me to my second negative opinion about this game. I do not like the fact that picking between one character or another leads to pretty much the same dialogue between all the characters. Playing through the game the second time makes you not really care how the dialogue differs, because it kinds doesn't other than the other characters saying your name and the in between mission cutscenes that last like 2 minutes, which those in between are really good but it makes it all the more frustrating when that kind of diversity between the characters isn't shared elsewhere in the story.

Now take what I said about the story between both characters and throw that out the window when it comes to gameplay. Holy crap is the diversity in abilities between them make multiple breakthroughs so much fun. While in Dishonored 1 you basically had to ask yourself "will you be lethal or non lethal this run", Dishonored 2 asks you like 5 different questions on how you want to play this run besides just being lethal and non lethal. For doing that and still not holding your hand like a child I truly respect the people at Arkane Studios.

Overall, if you loved the first one you'll most certainly love this one. A great sequel to a great game.

I originally have been putting of this game since it came out in 2012 because I wasn't really interested in the gameplay and story from what I saw. The game has a lot of options in how you can approach different targets for you to assassinate or spare, and it doesn't hold your hand like you're an idiot who's never picked up the game before.

While it does have a great combat system, the stealth is not that great even for when this game came out. It's not terrible by any means but the combat abilities or movement when it comes to stealth is very limited compared to the lethal approach. Other than having a rather lackluster stealth mechanics, the story and atmosphere of Dishonored is pretty top notch. If you are a fan of games like Prey, Bioshock, and/or Thief then this game is for you. This is a game that will stick in my head for years to come.

Tormented Souls does justice to old school survival horror! As someone who loves this genre of gaming I was thoroughly impressed by the amazing level design. The cinematic camera angles, hauntingly beautiful music, and eerie creature design all add up to a fantastic atmosphere. Combat rewards the maneuverable and resourceful player, and puzzles give enough of a hearty challenge for the well seasoned survival horror vet without being frustrating to newcomers.

While the story beats are pretty predictable, the mysterious journey of Caroline's horrific adventure kept me wondering how different pieces of the puzzle were going to line up. The voice acting while sometimes quite hilarious renders a nostalgic feel towards older horror games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil 2. I applaud the devs for leaning into their short comings, it created a very fun and nostalgic experience for me.

If you are a fan of survival horror, or you are looking to get into the survival horror genre, this game is a must for your library. I will most certainly replay this to get all endings and all achievements!

Ryzen 7 3700x RTX 3070 and this game has crashed on me 4 times already. I love the DMZ gamemode and want it to be better. Really needs to sort out these massive bugs before I consider recommending this game.
