This game is good. It's not Dark Souls 1 but still lots of fun to be had.

+ Good graphics and animation. Very Pretty.
+ Feels more optimized for PC than DS1
+ Not as difficult as DS1 and easier to progress
+ Incredibly fast matchmaking for co-op and pvp
+ fast travel from start
+ message system is much better

Downsides
- Not as intertesting or deep in lore as DS1
- might be very tough to new players at start
- Challenging sections of the game. Often this is because you are at the wrong place at the wrong time
- Punished on death. Not that bad considering that a single co-op boss battle gets you humanity and a ring reduces penalty to 75% hp rather than 50%
- must travel to same bonfire to level up

If you go into this game as it's own experiance rather than trying to compare every single aspect to the first game then you will enjoy the game. It still is better than most games I've played (i.e. vanilla Skyrim). Definitly worth playing.
