I thought I would have got bored of the same format, but after over 100 hours, I'm still enjoying playing Dread Hunger. It's a game of social deception that generally offers a good selection of people to talk to and play with. I'm excited to follow the roadmap and look forward to future updates. For now, though, I am going to continue enjoying this game that has yet to frustrate me!

New World is like taking a step back in time to the days of WoW, reigniting the fun I used to have, in a modernised way. Yes, the progression is slow, but why would you want an MMO that makes things easy? For those that haven't played the game, you get to choose a faction (between 3), join a company (guild), do quests/missions, enter expeditions (dungeons), and level up skills in areas like stonecutting, jewelcrafting, mining, skinning and so on. Of course there are improvements to be made, but I can honestly see myself playing New World for a long time, and would highly recommend it to those who want to play with friends and simply have fun doing so.

If you like city builders and strategy games like Banished and are looking for a challenge, Kingdoms Reborn definitely ticks the boxes. The developer and his team work hard on regular updates which can be accessed via the BETAS branch in Steam. I am really enjoying the progression with each update and highly recommend this game to anyone who loves this genre.

Incredible game, bought in the Steam sale. Lasted me a good few hours and made me want to go back for more (hence having bought The Room 2). A very interesting puzzle game that makes you actually use your brain! Clues are tempting, but it's' fun to play without them and figure it out. I wish there were more games like this that you can play when you're looking for something quiet, casual, yet interesting.

I must admit, at first I wasn't too keen on this game, but the more I've played, the more I've unlocked, and the more fun I'm having. I've only really experienced single player as the multiplayer aspect of the game needs to be on decent servers before I'll go near it.

Pros:
+ Crafting of new items becomes available the more you collect, build, craft, etc.
+ Building is pretty cool, a little fiddly at times, but overall you can build some nice creative stuff
+ Animal AI seems reasonable intuitive and isn't too buggy
+ There's hats, lots of hats (crab hats, turbans, pirate hats, etc.)
+ You can tame and ride a horse (yay)
+ I actually quite like the graphics
+ Discovering new islands with different resources

Cons:
- No respawn option (e.g. no bed/sleeping bag) - This only causes me an issue because if you discover a new island and build there, and unfortunately die, you respawn on your original island and have to sail back
- I'd like items to be moveable after you've placed them (e.g. larger items such as the kiln)
- Sailing is quite slow, and there are sharks (they're scary)
- LAN servers are laggy at times
- A few glitches with the UI

I haven't really experienced that many bugs if I'm honest, but that could be due to me playing LAN/single player, so I can't really comment. It's an early access game that cost £10, and I think it has a lot of potential. I have a feeling the community will build a lot of content for this, which will be cool, and I really hope that BI doesn't abandon the game.

There are in-game transactions for skins and pets - these things don't, in my opinion, affect the gameplay, so I'm not bothered that they're in there. Perhaps if the currency could be earned though doing achievements or tasks, this would entice more people towards getting a new skin/pet if they wanted too. As long as they don't bring out game changing microtransactions, I'll be happy!

Overall, for the 9 hours I've played, I've enjoyed it. It's a slow burner and takes some time to get used to, but once you're in, it's quite addictive!

I initially wrote a positive review on this, but have now changed this to negative. The positive review was based on potential and a good concept, but this game is just poorly executed (if you can even play it).

The lag, FPS issues, and AI are completely unbearable. I have spent probably 8-9 hours of my 11 hours of gameplay trying to get onto servers, leaving the game whilst I go and make dinner connecting, or just looking at a screen saying "connection/network issues".

The fact that because I've attempted to play over 2 hours of this game (it's not even a game at this stage) I can't get a refund - the policies on Steam are unacceptable, and a team of developers releasing a game to beat another game to the line is also unacceptable if the game is not playable. I support early access games, have and always will do, but not if they are unplayable days still after their release.

When speaking to the developers themselves (people that I know who speak to them), they asked how the server company fixed some of the issues, as they themselves as developers didn't know how... shocking.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this game; that's still the case after 12.2 hours, and at this point in my review, I haven't decided whether this is going to be positive or negative.

Firstly, the images you see in the slider above are not reflective of the graphics in game at the moment. The water from above looks reasonably nice, but dip your head under and it's a different story.

The servers are laggy with FPS issues, and the loading bar that says "this may take several minutes" should actually say "this may take several hours".

The 'monsters' in the game consist of a selection of about 10-15; crocodiles can't swim, and the AI is absolutely horrendous. The fighting in general doesn't shout skill to me; you hit something in front of you, then it rubberbands 3 metres behind you, and then you hit your tribe mate that's popped up in front of you out of nowhere. That's my experience so far.

So much of the 'learn recipes' (skill tree) doesn't make sense to me; being a stonemason is a prerequisite to being able to use a crossbow...eh?! Yet, you can destroy a base with a few arrows at level 5.

The NPC's are derpy as ♥♥♥♥. They can't swim, they often stand and look blankly at you, and then comes insta-death. Oh, and then 7 wolf/dog/hyena things pounce on you.

The building is fairly simple; I like that the walls show the outer wall face, as opposed to placing one down, then realising it's wrong and having to destroy it. You can make some fairly decent looking buildings with the resources available, but they'll only last a few minutes before the rust fan boys come and raid you out of house and home.

You don't have the ability to build a bed until level 13 (off the top of my head) which means you have to constantly craft bed rolls in order to not lose all of your stuff every single time you die (which is often).

I haven't had the luxury of reaching a point where any of the temple stuff comes into play (I don't even know if the game is capable of this at the moment).

People are comparing this game to ARK, but I can't make that comparison myself; I'd feel like a dirty lying cheat if I were to say that. ARK has it's issues, yes, but it's beautiful, and there's a game to play, a point to it. This honestly feels like a worse version of Rust. I liked Rust at first, but the more I played the more I came to realise there wasn't really much point to it. I want the motivation to survive in a survival game for a reason. This game currently doesn't give me that.

So I guess on that note, I'm going to stamp this as negative for now. I believe the game has potential, but this should not have been released in its current state. Whoever tested this game... I want a word with you! It's a little embarrassing.
