When my son was 4 years old I took away his mattress and forced him to sleep on the floor every night.

If he did his chores, I closed his window.
If he got straight A's, I gave him a blanket.
If he got in a fight at school and won, I wouldn't force him to take his shower cold.

One day, he asked me,
"dad, why is that no matter how hard I work, I can't seem to earn a bed?"

I slapped him, first - every question carries a price - then responded,
"son, you can work as hard as you can in this world, it doesn't always mean you're going to get what you want."
Then I asked him,
"is there a bed in our house?"
He answered,
"yes, but it's yours, isn't it?"
I punched him again - for the question - then told him
"yes. If you want a bed, you need to fight me for it."

Our president is 80 years old.
The average age of our senate is 64 years old.
Young people expect the older generations to give them everything, they are never raised to fight for and take what they want, so they deserve nothing.

Waking up to my 7 year old with a blade held to my throat was the proudest I'd ever been.
As I slept on the floor, shivering that night in the cold (he also took my blanket and broke my window), I rested soundly, knowing I'd taught him well.

My body is a machine that turns Steam Purchases into Unplayed Games.

Young men of your twenties; the name of the game to make it to your thirties and beyond is catastrophe avoidance.

If you can avoid marrying the wrong woman, making the wrong big purchase/investment, having a DUI or drug related crisis/ accident, or knocking up a woman with an unplanned pregnancy, all by the age of 30, you are not living a "boring life", you are setting yourself up for success. You are easily the top 5% of men making it to the finish line unscathed (I made up the 5% statistic for dramatic flair).

You are not an awful person if the above happens to you; you have time to recover and while it is a struggle, you can bounce back again. But much like having a healthy pair of parents is preferable to a single parent, having a safe voyage in your twenties with just the right amount of adventure and risk is preferable to throwing a stick in your bicycle wheels; life is already going to throw surprises your way, so please make sure you avoid making mistakes you have full autonomy over like who you touch and what you invite to touch you. Most importantly, you have something good in your life, such as family, a few solid friends, loved ones, a pet, it is never inappropriate to let them know you appreciate and are thankful for them; there are only so many opportunities you'll have the time, and time is the enemy you are working against. You have a golden mansion worth of time, and all the millionaires in their eighties can't buy their youth back; you are the richest one in time potential in the room of old CEO's, so invest your time wisely.

If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until it gets so ugly that you can hardly look at it.

"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.

Download more FPS. This program is magic. In Dark Souls Remastered, I went from the 60 fps cap to 240fps, and I could definitely tell the difference in smoothness! I use this the most in playing "The Binding of Isaac: Repentance" as I can tell the visual difference in the menus immediately. Perfect for emulator games!

NOTE: I own a Steam Deck but this program does not run on it! Be warned Steam Deck users if you're only buying it for the Deck.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE USING MSI AFTERBURNER
MSI Afterburner's Rivatuner Statistic Server (RTSS) displays the engine's framerate, aka OGL/D11/D12 reporting. To find your true FPS after scaling, do this:

1. Download HWinfo64
2. Go to Sensor Settings
3. "RTSS (OSD)"
4. Show the "Framerate (Presented)" on your overlay.
5. Voila, you now have the engine's framerate, and the monitor's framerate. My 3080ti boosts many 60fps capped games up to my monitor's refresh rate of 240.

Only con:
There is artifacting in motion which is akin to ghosting. This affects HUD elements and is less noticable in some games than others.

Worth full price. Can't wait to see future updates.

Edit: I noticed a lot of reviews saying "this is bad, don't work in alan wake/cyberpunk, im waiting for fsr 3". What are you doing?? Why would you want to implement frame generation to games that natively support it? This tool is a godsend for games that don't support FSR or DLSS FG.

The newest update eliminates all cons. No more ghosting, this is honestly the best application on Steam and I am happy to support it.
