Its a fun game, but can I recommend it? Hell no.

What other games call a demo version of the game, Forza will make you pay up to 99 Euros for it and still lock half of content behind pay walls, dlcs, expansions etc.

Just because of that, I can't recommend. Milking players for their enthusiasm of racing and cars.

I don't get it, the corporate greed is completely wrong way of thinking. Corporate greed is playing it safe, that means they would rather have 10 000 players or less, but have those players pay for everything.Players who buy dlcs in this game are investing in hope and beta version of the game.
They don't care until their game gets negative reviews, then shareholders, ceo's and other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exc in Xbox Game Studios will pay attention and do something.

All of their DLC are mostly negative, every single one. Its sad...

Its actually fun and its a good game in its core. Just everything around it is SO BAD.

Early Access Review
No crashes no many glitches and bugs on my side. i9 and 4070ti, zero problems. Graphics are okay, immersive enough. Same goes for the sounds and design in general. One thing that bugs me so so much is the save game. It such a weird system. Just make it so player can either save when ever or just make it save the game everytime you rest. Bon fire saves, weird story progressing saves where it sometimes saves 3 times in 5 min and other times you play for 30 min and nothing. Weird.

Other than that the game is okay for 20 Euros, its a decent time. Will probably be better with time I imagine since its early access, recommended for everyone who loves this genre. Its a treat. Its nothing that will change your life, but its decent enough where you can enjoy it. Cheers devs.

Starfield, if Outer Worlds and Fallout had a baby and Star Citizen raised it.

Lets talk about whats meh first, nothing is really bad, but...
Animations are dull, very Bethesda and very 2012. No advanced animations like door handling, walking up the stairs etc. You can't eat or drink directly from what you see, first inventory everything then use it. You have to sit there and watch animations for landing, docking, getting into a ship, off the ship, doors to bigger buildings, caves.., Gets boring after few times.

Being a space game this "big" is that its actually not THAT big since everything is instanced. There are no land vehicles, no mounts, you fast travel everywhere. You can't fly in on the planet, fly out, roam around the planet and there are no footsteps behind you even in snow (we all love that nerdy realistic stuff)
In this sort of Arcade space Sci Fi RPG you need realistic elements to keep the player properly immersed.

Also why does your follower always say goodbye after every time you speak to them? seems so weird and out of place. It just bugged me.

Bugs are plenty, nothing super game breaking but there are occasional ships and npc falling thru the floor and such, follower talks to you while he is slowly walking into a wall etc.. but nothing substantially crazy.

On higher difficulties the game just holds your hand like a child in need of that sweet dopamine kick in the chest while you scream for another bite. The enemies are pure sponges but that's how you go around bad AI design, they are stormtroopers missing every shot but you still have to dump few mags into them. (modders already fixed it on Nexus)
The UI is also pretty meh, I understand its probably made more for a TV and controller in your hand but there is just way to much clutter on your screen for a space opera that is concentrated on "exploration"

Walk speed is too slow, you can walk, run or sprint. Wish they made something more advanced like holding down a key and scroll wheel how fast you need to walk. You follow a character while walking they are too fast, you sprint, you are too fast, breaks the immersion. That somehow takes me to kinda good stuff:

Graphics and design are really good, proper Sci-fi. What this old engine does is not super amazing or realistic and Bethesda bathes it with good global illumination and some odd shading I had to get rid of to actually enjoy it ( Cleanfield Reshade on Nexus literally saves the day). One thing struck me also kinda weird, I saw no dog like creatures, birds or anything other than alien scorpions and enemies, kinda void of any other life except Humans and bigger alien creatures.

The story, is simply amazing here. Proper space opera that grasps you and doesn't let go. But one would argue that side quest you encounter are even better, just so well written all around. The characters feel right and there is no forced wokeness or anything like that, its a space game not Witcher Netflix, so everything fits with no mega cringe moments.

Also, modders have already started doing some cool thingies, this game in 6 months is gonna be amazing in 2 years you gonna have 10 games in one.

They had an opportunity to create something really special if they went a little bit more realistic and further with details rather than arcade but its Bethesda and their games are alive because of talented modders out there.

Score and sound design is done pretty well, as every other game they made but it reminds me so much of Fallout New Vegas, it has that weird pop to it.

7.7/10 experience so far, would recommend any Sci-Fi fan out there.

But in 6 months its gonna be 9/10, 100% because of mods.

Its System Shock baby, what more to say.

Refunded.
Great game!

Serious edit: Why refund? Too expensive for what it is. I wasn't part of the kickstart hate train like most of people here.

Get this in few months when its 40% off.

But its good game?
Yes.
Worth a 40 bomb?
No.

The gameplay is actually fun, love everything except the freaking mobile port UI... its so tedious to a point of uninstall.
The game doesn't need it. The inventory is atrocious and you can't even compare items, its just bad.

Gameplay is kinda good, fun as any aarpg
Sounds are really good.
The rest is a complete no.

i9 9900k
RTX 2070
32GB Ram

The game runs fine, no problems, everything on high and epic with AMD Fidelity on Quality I get around 70ish fps, which is more than playable for single player game.

The game is awesome, if you loved the first one, this one is basically the same only polished in terms of content and everything in game. It lacks a bit of performance, but wait a month or two it will only get better from here.

Great game, enjoying every moment of it.

Edit: For some reason, when I installed new nvidia driver and disabled AMD Fidelity, it runs way better: Everything is on Epic with Ray Tracing OFF and it runs almost 80fps solid no drops.

Edit 2: Once few hours in game, when you get back to the first planet, when its more "open" world, the stutters are real, the performance drops drastically from 70-80 to 40-50fps.
