The reason why I would not recommend said game is due to me being bored of the game while playing it, it is a good game but far from "masterpieces" that many proclaim it is.

It does things well that is already done before, it's hard for me to say what are the good parts due to the good parts being in all of their games. So if you have played any of them you will know what to expect.

So I will focus on the bad parts.

Open World
I dislike many open world due to issues that plague the format. Even Elden Ring doesn't escape for that.
The core problem is, the quantity is primary goal and quality is secondary.

It shows very apparent with small dungeons that are way to same and boring to explore. Since every mine shaft or small dungeon will always be the same with small variations that as might be nonexistent.
Fighting bosses that I fought before, like I get if it was 3 max, but some bosses you fight 10+ times. Like I fought Ulcerated Tree Spirit way to many times that I started to detest the boss. I'm not exited to fight the same dude for the fifth time.

The world is way to open with nothing going on, where you just ride past enemies to get to locations where there is some loot. I would argue that majority of the world is useless, like the only places that I have reason to stop is ruins, some boss fights in open areas, and important locations.
But otherwise the world has nothing to offer, it might as well have been a linear game and nothing would change.

Bosses
I know this topic has been discussed and debated a lot, but my take is majority of bosses gets boring due to me fighting them before, that I am not exited to fight anything anymore because I will have "Will I fight them again in some dungeon or something?" thought.

Yeah, older games did reuse bosses, but did the reuse the same boss 10 times or something? There are 3 different crystal bosses that you fight individually, then like 2 duo fights with the crystal dudes or maybe even 3 (Variation of the 3), and finally you fight all 3 of 'em in single place. That accounts for 7 fights in total with the same boss.
Compare to Dark souls 3 where only Index was used twice. Then 2 bosses that were in previous games reused. When fighting any boss from that game I know that I will not fight them again, which makes all of these fights very special.

That is why after I got past the bridge and then the bridge to snowy areas, I stopped exploring and rushed to main areas to finish up major locations and finished up NPC quest lines. I had no desire to explore more just to fight same bosses again and again, in dungeons that have no creativity bar few exceptions.

In all honesty, the game isn't that bad. Story and Characters were fine to me, but that isn't the issue I had with the game.

But horror is very weak, and many of it's designs are very poor.
I hate how many save points I keep running into, it's endless and if I "Die" or anything I pretty much lost like seconds worth of progress.
Even though the Dev said he will spread resources thin and wide, the problem I encountered is, I only ever used 2 items and that is it, meaning my loadout of Mace, water bottle, Chocolate, bandage, and bandage were unchanged until I found bag upgrade, in which it just added chips and coffee.

The game is just to easy, even the peek-a-boo is very quick and hiding spots are pretty much at every corner. Enemies are a joke.
I was unsure at one point in subway wondering is there even enemy here? I never encountered the vicious sister there.

Having the tag of "survival horror" is an insult to the genre. If the Dev will make Coma 3, they need a different approach for enemies and how item usage rate and distribution of items.

The game is good enough for what it is.

With the milking the game for so many DLC that add way to little for what they offer on price.

A lovely short story.

I usually don't like Visual Novels, but this one was really great. Even though it was a short experience, it made me teary in few moments.

It is a fun game, but that is how I mostly feel about.

The biggest part of this game is of course the combat.
I hate and love combat in this game, I love the idea and how tactical you can get by getting into fights without even tacking damage.
But the problem consists of how it plays. When you select an action that may take like 4 heartbeats, for the god of love why does it automatically play it out? I still have the second character that I want to order at the same time, it leads to moments where a character dies because it skips 4 hearts, or I take damage and it skips like 8 bars.

It can be quickly resolved by showing how many bars will be taken in the lower screen where the tab is located, and that it. No auto play the bars, no nothing. I want to manually move thru one bar, if I take damage on the second bar I just move one back instead of moving 9 bars back. Until it is fixed I have to spam left click on the tab menu to stop it from moving forward.

Story is not that great but it works for this game as a basic template. Voice actors could be better, felt flat for the most part.
Was not interested when they talk it stops the game, it would be fine it they talked in the background while I was moving.

Some levels are very short, like 2 min and I have so sit thru like 5 loading screen with only like 10 min worth of gameplay in all of them.

It's a fun game to play but not something I would buy for it's asking price. Get it on sale.
If they do make other games in same gameplay, I hope they will fix these problem for more smoother gameplay.

THE SURGE

Before I even played it, I only heard bad things about, so I came in expecting something bad but I was overly surprised how much fun I had at first. But the more I played the game the more I discovered issues, unbalances, and borderline unfun it was.

COMBAT

At first the game wasn’t as bad I though it would be, games speed felt fast and fluid, which I liked. But the problem with combat only got worse the more I played and further I got in the game.

There are many different types of weapons available for the player but some of them are other trash that should be questioned why they exist, heavy duty for example; It’s way to solve to hit anything remotely quick (Which is pretty much everything, especially bosses), it takes a long time to hit which makes you vulnerable to damage way to much and it will kill you because of that.

Fighting more then 1 enemy at a time because way to hard for no reason other than they don’t have group fight AI, every single of them works as if you are fighting them 1v1. Which ends up pretty much all the time in many zones and areas in the game. Then you have some enemies with huge hitbox that take up the whole areas, like the robot in a ventilation shaft, there is no room for mobility and the damn thing has ranged capabilities. Many move sets for enemies are areal so even more annoying to fight them in tight zones.
Number spikes in the game are just absurd, every enemy will kill you within 5 hits, I die within 3. Half my implants are health, I have more HP than some bosses pre-NG+ but damage numbers were still bad before NG+.

Armour in this game is utterly useless, stats matter only if you don’t know how the game even works at first. What matters is the perks they give you and that is it. A weak stated armour can outclass the best stated armour just because it didn’t have a tiny perk on it’s set. You have no freedom of choosing armour, you will be running with same kit all the time.

LEVEL DESIGNE

First three levels are fine as they are, not to complex or hard to navigate as they work very linearly. But the last level with shafts being the brunt of it suffer hard, first few times will make you feel lost and wishing you had a map, I looped to same place like 3 times, once. They should have added like signs to the level and the existing map on billboards is useless.
NG+

This is not fun at all, only difference is bigger number which still will kill you within 5 attacks or less, no new enemies or different patterns. It’s all same but with stat bloats.

END

I wish the game was better, but the combat makes me want to die just because how tedious it is and enemies’ stat bloats. I came first with opinions it will suck but got disproven for a bit until the game just proved me right anyways.
The game is average at best.
