Ifyou're into Souls-Like games, this game should scratch that itch! The story is decent, the combat is good and the graphics are beautiful. Did a few playthroughts and achieved the 100% - challanging but not overwhelming to do if you're an achievement hunter, like myself. The game played great, and I didn't run into any glitches or graphical issues. I would highly recommend this game to any Souls fans!

I'm recommending this game, because I'll never tell someone to straight up "Don't play "this" game", unless there is a gamebreaking issue that prevents you from completing the game. There ARE glitches, but I was able to make it to the end of the game, with few issues. And while I will recommend this game, it is very...flawed.

The story is fine - though the ending is very anti-climactic. The world looks like any other dystopian, machine-inhabited world - nothing really to write home about here. The voice acting is good, probably one of the few highlights, in my opinion. The weapons are fine, but cannot be upgraded. They don't have much for ammo capacity, and ammo is pretty scarce. There are only a few different enemy types in the game, and their hitboxes are horrendous! Some save points can make for frustrating run backs, but gameplay-wise, things went smoothly, for the most part,

The issues are in the glitches. I am an achievement hunter. I enjoy trying to 100% as many games as I can, and I wanted to for this game, but certain bugs have made that impossible, The achievement for completing the game without taking damage is absurd LOL, but besides that, completing the game on hardcore mode doesn't always unlock the achievement for doing so. Also, dying in hardcore mode seems to stop you from being able to interact with items once you re-spawn. If you're an achievement hunter, there is a chance you'll meet all the proper criteria and still not receive all the achievements, so heads up!

I completed Scholar of the First Sin previously, and decided to go back and play the original DS2. In some ways I actually prefer this version of the game over the newer version. Certain enemy placements make more sense, the hit boxes don't seem as BS, and it feels like closer to what the game intended to be. Not to ♥♥♥♥ on Scholar, as it did give some added quality of life changes and some additional content - it's still better than most games out there. Definitely worth playing if you want some more Souls content!

Review

Pros:
-The game is beautiful - the art direction is different but great, and the story is rich and heart-felt,
-The puzzles aren't overly complex (for the most part) and gameplay is reletively easy (again...for the most part),
-Not overly complicated to achieve 100% if you're an achievement hunter, like myself,
-The character is likeable and has some cute / funny emotes / movements,
-The soundtrack is beautiful and pais perfectly with the admosphere of the game,

Cons:
-Some of the puzzles were a bit complicated and I had to use a guide a few times,
-Collectibles are also a bit complicated to find without a guide, if you're going for the achievements,
-Having to Log In to your EA account every time you play is a huge pain, and I often get kicked out of the game becuase EA decides to log me out,

Overall:
I would 100% recommend this game, maybe even at full price - but look for a deal if you're unsure. Going to play the sequel next, hoping it's just as good! 9/10!

Secondary Notes (After 100% Completion)
-When going for all achievements, sometimes the achievements would pop in Steam and not EA, or vice-verse.
-Having to go through each level over and over to get the no death achievement kinda took away from the story and atmosphere of the game. This is a beautiful game and frustration is not an emotion I should be feeling with this story,

Planet Alpha is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer. The graphics are beautiful, sound design is good and puzzles are (mostly) fun and not too complicated. The game, however, can be quite frustrating at times. Many encounters can be difficult and punishing if you're not ready and the game doesn't really tell you how to avoid them - you basically have to die and THEN learn how to avoid it. If you're an achievement hunter, like myself, this game isn't overly difficuly to 100% but you will most likely need a guide, as many paths to achievements aren't overly obvious. Not much else to say about this game. While I don't recommend buying it at full price, it's worth a playthrough if you can get it on sale! 6/10 Recommend on sale/

Finally got around to playing this game after all these years sitting in my games library collecting digital dust. I have to say that this game is amazing and well-deserving of all the hype and praise that comes with it!

Pros
-The gameplay is great, and holds up to this day. There was never a point where I was bored or frustrated, and gameplay just went smoothly,
-The characters, and their voice acting, are fantastic. I genuinely cared about the main characters, and each one played their part in the story,
-The graphics are fantastic and still hold up today. While not always perfect in all areas, the fantastic gameplay makes up for it,

Cons
-I generally play with a controller (old console habits) and sometimes it was kinda wonky, but after playing around with mapping tools, I got it sorted out (for the most part),
-And the biggest flaw is not within the game, but within myself, for taking so damn long to play this masterpiece of a game!

I would 100% recommend this game to anyone, whether you get it during a sale or you buy it full price. This game is fantastic and should be played by any gamer. 10/10 completely recommend!!!

Horizon Review

Pros:
-First of all, it's great to finally have this game on PC! Hopefully PS4 games will continue to make their way to this platform (here's hoping for Bloodborne, especially),

-I completed the game with 100% achievements, which took just over 70 hours. It would have been less time but I somehow missed the fact that Fast Travel was a thing until about 15 hours in…whoops. Thanks to fellow gamer and friend, StarsRookie, who pointed it out to me!

-The game is beautiful! You have a huge open world to freely explore, and lots of missions, side missions and other things to occupy your time,

-Con: At times the world seems almost too big. And in reality, it’s just a huge open space and they throw a bunch of enemies in between you and your destination to keep you occupied. As I mentioned, there is a lot of traveling, though I didn't discover Fast Travel until about 15 hours into the game…oops.

-The main missions are good, and the side missions are okay, though they can get very repetitive - but it is where you tend to find the best upgrades and supplies. The game gives you the option to take a quiet, stealthy approach or to go in weapons blazing,

-The story is good and quite intriguing at times, but there is a lull in the middle of the game where it focuses less on story, but otherwise I have no complaints. There is plenty of dialogue between characters which helps flesh of the story, backstories, etc, though I do find some conversations go on wayyyy too long,

-The characters are good. The main character, Aloy, is a well fleshed-out character and there are a few other noteworthy ones, but many others seem quite bland, and are only there to progress the story or set up side missions. The voice acting, sound effects, etc are all great,

-The world is open, big and has plenty to do. There are plenty of save points (maybe too many?), which makes for an easy run back if you die (which I did a fair amount),

-Most missions and side missions have level recommendations but can be accessed at any time if you want a higher challenge (though I never found difficulty too low). You are also not locked into missions so you can abandon them any time if you feel stuck and come back later, minus a few story missions that have a "point of no return" but it warns you when that is the case,

-The game has a simple, but great, crafting system. Crafting supplies are all over the open world and also can be purchased at merchants. The game focuses heavily on crafting so you will want to keep a supply of everything, but there is no real shortage.

-The design of the machine enemies are very good! While there are only about a dozen different machine types, they are well spread out over the world and all offer a unique experience when fighting them.

-Gameplay-wise, I have no real complaints! The loading times are fantastic and I've run into almost no lag and no technical issues, minus a few graphical errors during fast or close combat.

Con:Sometimes the camera gets wonky when enemies are next to you or run out of your focus too quickly,

-There are lots of parkour areas in the game, so if you’re into that, great! Sometimes the markers for where you can climb are hard to see and I found myself running around trying to find them,

-The DLC is good and worth playing. On Steam, the Complete Edition includes the DLC, so you might as well play it! The DLC area is more of the same thing as the base game, but offers a new area to explore, more missions, new enemies and new upgrades/equipment.

Main Cons:
-There were a lot of difficulty spikes - I found that they would throw in enemies sometimes that felt way too powerful for the level you were at, and I ended up cheesing a few fights,

-Getting ganked by multiple enemies is not fun. One on one fights with tough enemies, or a few smaller enemies at once is fine, but sometimes 5+ enemies of varying difficulty attack and once and things can get out of hand.

-The markers in your mini-map for your chosen path go by the roadway, and "checkpoints" in that path update as you pass them via road, so sometimes the direction of the map doesn’t change if you cut through the woods and miss the road marker,

Overall:
The game was fun and worth (most of) the hours that I put into it. By the end, things started to feel a bit tedious but that could probably have been resolved had I figured out fast-travel earlier on. I 100% recommend this game. It’s on PC now! GO GET IT!

In the first part of the game, you are told to go to the Police Station. When I do, the game TRIES to load the Police Station in but doesn't and it's just Leon walking around a black space. I can't go anywhere and have to shut down. Does anyone know a fix for this issue?
