I highly doubt this game needs another positive review, but I'll throw my thoughts in the ring anyways;
This game - for me - was such a serendipitous experience. I watched a few people on YouTube play the very beginning of it and that's what piqued my interest. The TCG game mechanics hooked me instantly. And I'm so glad that was enough to encourage me to get it myself because this game TAKES YOU PLACES! Every major arc, I was floored! Admittedly, I am easily wowed by third wall breaking elements - and this game makes those well known from the get-go - but I never expected the extent that this game would go to. I'm not a spoiler-adverse person, generally. But this is one of the few experiences where I feel like the less you know, the better.
I have encouraged friends and family to play this game. At one point, this game was a hyperfixation for me. That moment has passed, but I still boot this game back up every once in a while to just play the card game because it is so satisfying. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who is on the fence about playing this game to do so. I promise you, it is an experience like no other.

Early Access Review
I'm seriously into this game! I've been playing it every chance I got the last few days. There are definitely a few aspects that could be improved on. In particular, the general lack of customization for the look of the store does bother me. There's also the fact that I feel like I'm constantly hovering the singles table to refill it even if I mark up the singles to the point where I'm getting negative reviews about it. Do negative reviews effect anything? Honestly, no clue!
Regardless, at the end of the day, you'll probably catch me playing this game til 2AM anyways. It's addicting! Getting a license to sell a new product, hiring a new employee, figuring out a new layout for the store - it all itches something in my brain. I'm looking forward to upcoming updates! Especially customizing the look of the store and organizing tournaments!

I went in blind and fully expected a spook or jumpscare, but instead just got to enjoy a short, sweet game with an interesting, creepy vibe. I tend to be a bit skeptical about how personality quizzes generalize people - I've taken my fair share for boredom and curiosity's sake - but I guess this isn't a personality quiz, is it? As it is, the time for introspection was nice, and what was said at the end struck closer to home than I was expecting.

My secret word is Power.

The Homestuck game we all waited for is here! Except not.
I'll be the 100th person to admit that the more recent announcements for the game were not what I expected. I didn't even expect it to be for the PC, let alone have nothing to do with Sburb. But that didn't stop me from buying it the day it came out.
Initially, I was pretty skeptical. In the first 10 minutes of playing, I'd already spotted to in-game glitches and I wasn't impressed. My cynical mind could only think, "How many years had this been in the making? How much money did this earn again?" But it was whatever. I was here to support one of my favorite webcomics turned game with three of my favorite creators boasting a hand in it's production, and get in on those sweet, sweet references. Quality was the least of my concerns (but still a concern none the less). But after the latest update, most of those quality concerns were swept away and I enjoyed the story in it's entirety and let me tell you. I finished it today and it was more than I would have ever hoped. I'm in love all over again. The characters are so well made and while I don't love all of them, I do admit that it's not because they're poorly written. In fact, their flaws make them enheritly better fleshed out. The game is FUN, though more story-based, with little player interaction other than telling the character where to go and some amount of puzzle solving skills. As the description says, you don't NEED to have read Homestuck in order to get into the game. In fact, the actual Homestuck references that would go over an unknowing player's head are rather few and far between, but just enough to make a old or new fan go, "O SHOOT SON."
My only REAL complaint is the length. I thought $7.99 was a steal for a brand new game, but after beating the entirety of it in two not overly lengthy sittings, I can honestly say it was about 8 bucks of content. Which is to say it was about the length of one graphic novel, which is accurate pricing. For a more frugal and savvy fan, they may consider waiting until all the Acts come out and buy them in bulk. But you won't find me putting myself through that; You can bet I'll be buying Act 2 on it's release date as well, and I feel like that says something on my opinion of this game as a whole.

Tl;Dr: If you're thinking of checking it out, just do it bro. Make it happen. It's a good intro.
