A fantastic sequel that improves on the first game in almost every way.

Americans will probably find this game offensive.

Even if the game was worth it's unjustifiable $14/mo pricetag for membership (it's not), the new owner's of Jagex have made it clear they intend to add more monetization to the game. The game has been consistently ruined over the years by the addition of bonds (and incredibly long grinds to influence you to buy them) and despite the playerbase's backlash to the new monetization policy, they are not backing down on more greedy monetization paths.

GGG is not a company I can support any longer. Not just because of the crashes that may be dangerous to hardware recently introduced into the game, but because one of the top PoE2 racers was proven to cheat and no action has been taken against the account.

A cautious recommend. It's supposed to be a next-gen Everquest and it feels like it. Content is light, and the devs are basically promising to wipe progress in the future. The game is fantastic, but it's hard to commit to playing it with the promise of wipes. Buy the game basically only if you are looking to support the team making a good game and don't expect it now.

A near perfect remaster of one of the best Dragon Quest games.

Neat game but light on meaningful content. Look forward to seeing it improve over time.

The negative reviews don't see the bigger picture of the game. You don't "lose" gear between chapters, things picked up in early chapters will still be useful in later chapters. This game has a ton of potential and a very unique, spin on the genre. It's just hard to understand from a new player perspective how things interact with each other.

I am personally enjoying my time with the game, at least until OSRS Leagues come out, and I think it will have a brilliant future if the Gowers manage to tie it all together in a coherent package with future updates.

Major performance bugs affecting my 7900xtx making the game a slideshow despite showing 110fps.

I've beat the game on the Switch and playing through it again on PC. Performance is much better. If you're a fan of creature collectors, DQM has a long history and fantastic mechanics as well as a very deep breeding system. It also is a retelling of the origins of Psaro the Manslayer from Dragon Quest IV.
