This game is definitely worth your time, don't get too attached, it is full of hackers, boosters and toxic players, once you learn how to deal with them, it's a fun game!

I think overall some of this has definitely changed since 2015. For example you should play casual more often than you think, as it helps with spray control and angles. Competitive shouldn't be played too much due to Broken Fang Premier, where the queueing is really messed up. But overall I don't think you should play too much casual. Hackers and Toxic Players are hard to ignore, but if you report them they'll either get banned or muted, so you don't have to deal with them. Overall CS:GO is a wonderful game that gets more fun overall no matter what you do.

Many people who have written a review on this game complain about the hackers. To those people, just stick with the game, you'll gain a higher trust factor and then you'll rank out of the cheaters section (60/40). Very old and unique game, only game similar to it thats managed to compete with it is Valorant. Yes, the hit reg can be wonky sometimes but honestly, just get a better computer and internet, it helps. If you can’t, then just deal with it. It doesn't happen often and you usually get the trade off anyways. For those complaining about snipers being overpowered, they're not overpowered 100%. They are the second most skill based weapons and you should respect these guys (for one match). About the toxicity, thats mainly in low trust factor, so just rank out of it.

Mainly, this game is a sort of game that has a HIGH skill ceiling, with basically infinite ways to win a round, win a game, get an ace, breach a site, retake, you name it. Best game for FPS lovers out there. Just give the game a try, stick with it, and you'll see results VERY quickly (or not).

Only problem i'd see here is finding out which role you are in a CS team.
Here’s the basics:

* If you’re a leader (or a person who likes making calls) than the role of an IGL is for you. IGL is mainly to group with someone and support the team with calls and information.
* If you have fast reaction, can flick well, and like skill based weapons, than the class of a sniper is for you. Your goal is to mainly hold an open area (like middle on most maps). In the beginning of sniping, id suggest using an auto sniper (SCAR-20 and G3SG) and then upgrading to the Scout (SSG-08) and the AWP.
* If you like rushing than the role of (captain obvious) a «rusher» is for you. These guys, well, rush. The optimal choice for rushers are PDWs (SMGs), (not the P90, P90 is only useful in the first 4 rounds) and the Rifle category. Oh, by the way, Valve has some good guns rated lower than they should, like the FAMAS, MAC-10, UMP, MP-9, MAG-7 and SAWED OFF.
* The last role is «support», they usually use guns from the heavy category and they full utility (smokes, molotov’s, and flashbangs). They smoke off entrances, throw molotov’s in common positions, and flashbang the site before entry. They go with the rusher, providing support for any close range encounters.
