Perfect game for those for whom even regular city builders aren't casual enough. Great thing to sit back, chill, place some tiles around, and not notice how 2 hours already passed.

It's a good game, and I would like to give it a positive review, but I can't do it in good conscience.

Just today, the game got its **BIG AMAZING 6TH ANNIVERSARY UPDATE** that adds... one block. One new block. Or rather, a small version of an already existing block.

At the same time, the developers released a brand new DLC with 20+ blocks, including functional blocks like the only small seat cockpit available without mods, the only walls with windows blocks, the only railings, and so on.

Even on the 6th anniversary they couldn't be assed to add new stuff to the game, weather, AI, things people were asking for for years. Instead you get a DLC. Let's celebrate the anniversary with vaing you PAY UP ♥♥♥♥♥.

SOON-TO-BE P2W WARNING

Now it's a good game. But in a fortnight or so it will change as follows:
  • Progression through lootboxes
  • Spending money means you get an advanteg over other players
  • You can, technically, progress for free, but it'd take you a good couple of years spent playing 8 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Customization of choosing your cards and their levels dumbed down to just choosing cards
  • New Legendary Cards that make even healers into damage dealers
  • A new players, with level 1 cards, will be absolutely demolished by players with higher-level cards

As it stands, I cannot recommend trying the game out. It's not worth getting into it for a week or two, only for it to turn into a P2W money-milking machine.

Hi-Rez studios has a history of killing their games through such practices; they killed Global Agenda, they killed Tribes, they will - undoubtedly - murder Paladins in cold blood.

Their response to massive community outrage? "We remain commited to Cards Unbound and its core features". It became a meme in the community, similar to "pride and accomplishment" of EA's.

If you want to know more, IGN, PC Gamer and Kotaku (yes, I know) have articles on the topic, major Paladins youtubers ave videos on it, and even Sid Alpha and Jim ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Sterling Son himself made videos on the topic as well.

0/10, not worth playing.

As you can see, I spent a lot of time in Warframe. A whole lot. I've been with this game since it became available in closed beta, years ago, and I have plenty of memories connected with it.

Is it really a game I can recommend? Well, yes and no. It depends on you and you alone. It's one of the games that have as many people hating it, as many there are loving it.

Pros:
  1. Not pay2win - you can trade items for premium currency
  2. Movement is smooth as butter
  3. Sick parkour moves
  4. No matter what weapons you like - you'll find it here
  5. No matter what playstyle you like - there'll be a Warframe that allows it
  6. Nice customization options
  7. A quick mission? You got it! A long mission? Got you covered! An easy mission? Sure! A hard one? No problem!
  8. The community is amazing
  9. So are the developers. Most of the time. Fortnightly devstreams and such.
  10. The pool of various systems, mechanics and whatnot is incredibly wide...

Cons:
  1. ...but just as shallow
  2. Prepare for all those cool mechanics and systems to be left abandoned in a barely working state, because the devs are chasing some new shiny
  3. The developers are worse at enemy balance than Sean Murray is at PR
  4. Basically, you either oneshot everything, or are getting oneshotted
  5. Despite not being a P2W game, it still does seem to scream SPEND MONEY at every corner sometimes
  6. PvP is a joke
  7. There's more action-packed gameplay in Telltale Games' games than there's endgame content in Warframe
  8. The grind can be atrocious. Like, really. A chance to get a thing you need to craft to have a chance of having a chance to roll for an item you want
  9. The developers did pull some ♥♥♥♥ moves in the past, nothing stops them from doing so again
  10. The devs have no sense of integrity, most new systems they add are completely separate from the main game. What you earn there, you can only spend there for items that let you do better there.
