In short, this is like a bad attempt at a HW remake; yet another tale, or how someone felt they could do better, than what made the series great.

Overall, the game gave me 8 hours of pushing me through tiny maps, as fast as possible, to reach the end, with zero choice. The mission zones are so tiny, there's no exploring, and enemies are thrown at you, and quickly dispatched, before the game quickly takes over and sends you on your way, without time to gather resources (not that you will need them).
The short duration of each mission, is made frustrating, with bad AI navigation, and an over abundance of cutscenws, or lost camera control, where the game wants to ruin every surprise.

HW3 was reduced to a character drama, between 4 characters. Lost is the epic scale and tale of civilisations, and gone are the great traditional cutscenes, which show this scale, for more standard 3D cutscenes.

This game should have been called HW: Wargames, as that is the primary focus here, not the story. They wished to sell you some multiplayer modes, with 12 months of DLC, and not the great single-player experience we're used to seeing from the series. I do not recommend this game to anyone that appreciates the series, as this game is not salvageable.

An epic survival RPG, with an interesting story; the learning curve for sword fighting is steep, but once mastered, is very satisfying. I feel this is a game I will keep coming back to, and with the great modding community and tools available, I can tweak the game to suit my game-style.

This game deserves a "Dire need for a sequel" award.

I've re-played TES4, TES5, FO3 and NV so many times I lost count, but I've only played FO4 once, and haven't touched it since. It's great for settlement building, but the gameplay and story is lacking the immersion and depth of the previous titles. Everything felt cut-down and rushed. If you liked the previous titles, just stick with those.

The Good: Runs smoothly, and looks great.
The Bad: Rince-repeat gameplay, no obvious save system, uninteresting side-quests, sparce story.

The terrain is uninspiring; I was so tired of the bland terrain of the first map that I was longing for a change, however the only imediate difference between the first two locations is foliage; for a moment I thought to myself that all they did was reuse the same map but put in some plants and water.
The gameplay overall is a cross between the combat style of the Batman games and the climbing of Assassin's Creed, however, the sparseness of the story missions means that the game is hours of killing quickly-repawning Uruk to complete uninteresting side-quests, before heading off to do the same for the main quests, which usually involve killing Uruk; rince-repeat.

Overall I do recommend this game if you can get it cheap, but I don't believe it deserves the high ratings it has been getting. Both the Batman and Assassin's Creed series offer a similar style game, but both those series are far more engaging.
