This game is a revolution for vr. It shows how with time, perfection can be aquired. It shows what a game should be; cheap, fun, and moddable. Thank you and congrats on the full release!

TLDR: try it and if you dont like it, return it. If it sounds good, try it. Not really 70 dollars worth, if you don't mind a tad of jank, its got a super good core besides story.


Hi! First off this is going to be a bit of a mess because I have ADHD, but I hope you enjoy!

Gameplay:
The little i have played so far I like, combat is different to a degree, but if your like me and haven't enjoyed and assassins creed game in a while, its nothing to really care about. Honestly I cant fairly judge this as of right now since i havent played that much. As of now, most of the beginning is a lot of cutscenes. The grappling hook I really love, being able to quickly climb a building I find quite neat especially in a pinch. Being able to crawl is super cool to! It really adds to the depth of being stealthy. still not super far but I will update in a later date

There has been no "major" bugs as of 3/20/25 but maybe im lucky.
I was completely wrong. There is definitaly a few bugs. Nothing major, besides the cutscenes. Somewhere in here I stated how bad it was. There is a multiude of visual glitches (nothing terrible), a horse running up a buidling (kind of hype honestly), and characters not rendering in.



Performance:
Currently running with a 4070 TI, 32 gigs of ram, and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800 3D Core. The point im making is I have a decently high end computer, and the game doesnt run quite well. I get a solid 80 frames on decent graphics, but I would be concerned about what specs you run just to take it into consideration. Yes I do think this should be more optimized but here we are. It is day 2 of the game being out so I think its "a little" unfair to go ham on it for being terrible (AAA studio cant make a smooth game after making over 30 different games WOW). They have the money yes, but they still don't so no reason for unnecessary hate especially if the game works. Point being, be careful running it as of right now because it is intense

Ubisoft...
So as some of you might expect, it is going to go through the Ubisoft connect app. If you have issues using said app I highly recommend not getting this game. As much as I hate it, its just what you have to deal with. The only "work around" I could think of is playing on a console, but I love me some steam achievements. This alone sucks because it will never change, but I would first make sure your ubisoft account works before pairing the game to it, not 100% sure but it might not be able to unpair.

Turn Offs:
MOST IMPORTANT TURN OFF IS THE CUTSCENES SO FAR. I am still playing through what I will call the tutorial faze (backstory and simple mechanics), but the cut scenes have this horrific flash to them. Legitimatelylike seizure warning level bad. I thought it was just the cutscenes at first, but now the menu does it and its awful (praying for quick fix). The most major turn off for me is micro transactions in a single player game. This personally was the only thing preventing me from playing this, but like kanye, seperate the artist from the music. The price range is always going to be upsetting, but its not going to change. THe mouthing for the characters is pretty atrocious, but I don't "really" care. Story is also not strong, but if we are all real, we have no idea what the hell is happening with the story in AC. The only other major issue I had was cut scenes. During one of the intro cut scenes, the game stopped and loaded 4 times, for 30 seconds completely breaking the atmosphere of the game. Lastly the only other thing (money grab) that I hate (because its useless unless you enjoy it then sorry for this), the deluxe. Of couse im not paying for it, but I get sad that someone else does. I think its quite sad that a SINGLE PLAYER GAME is charging extras for a few cosmetics. Not just a couple dollars, im pretty sure its like 20. If its something you like go crazy, I just wish it was more content compared to a money grab.

Turn Ons? It's a new AC game, so we have time for it to be a masterpiece. Its quite different in some regards compared to the newer games which makes me happy. The last AC game I truly enjoyed was syndicate, but maybe im just pro nostalgia. The graphics are fantastic honestly. I saw a review comparing it to ghost of tsushima which is pretty damn accurate. Nothing compares to that game graphically but its sure as hell close. I am quite interested with the fact that its Japanese culture so I give it a plus. Lastly its core gameplay mechanics are awesome. Personally i like the combat for being "easy". I mean its two buttons for the most part and stealth I think is very stong in this.


My opinion should not change your decision I only goal is to hopefully to aid you in a free, unbiased look at this from someone who enjoys a ton of different games. I hope this enlightened you a ltitle! Also realized how long this is, and how many turn offs there are. The turn offs are bad but not bad enough to not buy, just bad enough to not pay 70 dollars.

I dont even know where to begin, the writing, the freedom, the dlc is fine, the comedy. This game truly is one of my favorites. It has some of the most memorable lines, most fun exploration, and for once doesn't hold your hand through it. I don't want to dis games that do, but it can be a breath of fresh air feeling you have some remote control of freedom. If the graphics are an issue, there are plently of mods to solve it. This game also has some of the most fun side quests, that I go out of my way to do since I dont want to be it. Highly recommend trying even if it is just making fun of it with a friend in a call.


TLDR: This game is a masterpiece, graphics arent great so download mods
