Pretty fun game, and one I probably would have paid even a few bucks to go through.

Only complaint is the movement feels a little odd. But that can probably be fixed with patches or whatever chapter 2 holds.

This is a game where I wish I could put into a "maybe" section for recommended, cause some people may like it but others wont.

Overall the game has some neat ideas and concepts, but what I think tanks it down as being a good sequel is the following problems:

- Awful bosses that are either a mix of being too easy, or only difficult cause they hit like a truck
- Boring areas
- Difficulty that often feels like it was designed around "how can we make this as hard as possible?"
- Adaptability as an entire concept
- Weapons that break like they're made of paper, making you have to switch weapons while going through some areas and never getting to have fun with the one you like most

I recognize some people enjoy this for the PVP and build variety, but PVP isn't my interest and Souls games always seem to shine with their concept of "challenging but rewarding." I never felt rewarded in DS2 because either something was stupidly easy, or I felt frustrated at the difficulty of some boss who basically just hits you for half your health because their hit box is stupidly large and their damage output is insane.

Frankly going through the entire game, the only area I felt was rather interesting was the Ivory King's DLC, minus the optional boss which most agree is annoying anyway.

It's a pretty decent game with cool ideas, but it's also a very bad PC port with lots of technical problems. If EA ever released a patch to fix it I could recommend it but with how old the game is and the way they've been treating McGee this is just gonna be a quick buck in EA's pocket if you buy it.

Finished it in about 30 mins but it was a fun run.
