Despite all the negativity surroudning this game, I personally like it a lot. There arent many mech games ont he PC and this one, despite its short falls does provide a few hours of mayhem.

PROS:
You get to control a mech with the ability to arm 4 differnt weapons
Satisfying combat with dash
Edge mode is fun to use

CONS:
Read below, game breaking/ progress stopping CTD
On-foot missions are really badly done
Boss battles are fought in small areas and unless you are quick and use dash/ edge you are not going to survive
Some levels limit the ability to carry certain weapons (not a huge deal breaker, but the design decision needs to be questioned)

HOWEVER, this game has progress breaking crashes during the infantry missions (on-foot missions); the first on-foot missions, war hero, has random CTDs. These are also widely reported and unfortunately no proper fix, work around exists afak. Turning off V-sync, not crouching, win 7 compatibility mode etc dont work. [Read Edit below, there are two work arounds for this CTD]

I would have reccomended this game had it not been progress stopping unfixed issue.

Edit: So there is a work around for the War Hero CTDs, Infact there are 2 that i have discovered. One, the level can be completed by running it on a system with an Intel CPU that has an integrated GPU. Once beyond this level it is possible to complete the game using any discrete GPU. The CTDs tend to occur specifically on Nvidia hardware
Two, if you rush through the level it is possible to complete it without experiencing any CTDs. I have run a speed run twice without once experiencing a CTD.
I am changing my preference to reccomend after discovering the solutions.
