Absolutely goated with the sauce

One of my all time favorite puzzle games.
Spiritual successor of obra dinn where you have to deduce what happened based on a semi-static picture.

Gameplay boils down to collecting the evidence across multiple scenes and filling in the blanks in "mad libs".
It begins simple: "bloodied dagger and a corpse with suspicious lack of blood". Endgame puzzles require you to know all the secret lore and follow the stories of recurring characters (It was so cool to get rewarded for being invested in the world)

Go buy this on sale if you are not sure, might not be your kind of thing. If it is though, I guarantee you'll come back for dlcs

Probably the only game where being racist is a competitive advantage.

Unique puzzle mechanic of "deduction sudoku" where player has to fill in an "insurance report" based on presented scenarios.
Difficulty grows as the narrative intensifies. Early game puzzles are like "I'm John Smith, cook. Oh no my friend and apprentice George is gonna shoot me with a 9mm Beretta!". Late game you are trying to figure out if captain's 8th mate is living in Spain or died from scurvy

A must play for all thought thinkers out there!

Cute lil game. Not for kids.
Big time "Over the garden wall" vibes while also being quite unique visually.
Got really invested in a story and beat the game in one sitting. And what a ride it was!

Gameplay-wise it's mostly linear with some meaningful choices/branching paths.

3 hours to "soft 100%" it, probably 2 more to get all achievements.
Will probably revisit the game in a few years.

I absolutely adore game's visuals. Level design is steallar and the puzzles are mostly on par.

However, chase sequences are a bit too strict. That and 3d parkour in 2d perspective leads to constant failures and replays. Checkpoints are somewhat generous but it still leaves a sour taste.

This game is too anime and not mecha enough.

Robots feel clunky and unresponsive (and not in a realistic way either), weapons deal no damage to "other players" and absolutely destroy cannon fodder.
There's close to no feedback when dealing and taking damage.

The variety of armor/weapons is severely lacking especially in early game.
I had to change equipment exactly one time for a mission that was basically a race.

Story cycles through every anime trope in existence and goes nowhere. There are multiple moments where it felt like there's some grand reveal which is then completely ignored. Also, every time anything story related happens it slows the game to a crawl

Gonna revisit this when I beat the game (70% in atm)



Edit after beating the game:

You know how you lose interest in some games and stop playing them? This game actively hurt me by it's mediocrity. I finished it out of spite just to make sure there's no redeeming qualities. The wasted potential and all the resources that went into making the game make me angry

Really nice coop timing based puzzle platformer. Keeps introducing new mechanics, puzzles never get stale. Cute and heartwarming story. Get it and play it with a friend asap!
