This game is a few things

God of War (2018) but weirder
Absolver with Witcher 2 dice game
Also, Zeno Clash 3 for select few who have nostalgia for the series

2 tickets to the book please

Neuromancer meets dungeons and dragons. A bit too linear but the writing is genuinely good.
Big props for not going for mass effect style "paragon/renegade" black and white solutions. Characters feel complex and relatable, your decisions matter but the world always pushes back.

Must buy for anyone who likes last century's sci-fi

Stop that blade! Wait not that one, that one was a slightly different color. Ah, forget it, the camera is stuck looking at the floor anyway.

+ Cool memes
+ Shadow the hedgehog protagonist
- Janky controls that are never explained outside of forum posts from 2015

Edit:
To all of the "skill issue" people: I beat the game on the hard mode with the default sword

One day a man woke up, pondered the cruel nature of infinite and indifferent cosmos and decided it needed a kiss.

On a more serious note, game is pretty short. You can get all endings in 3 hours.

The last (secret) chapter is a must play and gives you an interesting twist on existing mechanics.

Exo One?
More like Sexo One. Because game is good.
A bit on the short side though, ~3h of fun locomotion with story sprinkled in

When I started ER I was really hyped. Getting a nostalgic feeling every time I encountered something from previous games made the performance issues tolerable. Midgame is about rolling the dice if you get something absolutely astonishing or another case of reused content while exploring. Endgame is suffering and balance issues.

List of the "mechanics" they've brought back from previous games and how you deal with them:

Mechanic
Cheese
Bloodborne hyperaggressive bosses
Bloodhound Step ash of war
DS1 moveset vs DS3 enemies
Shields actually work in the endgame
Gank bosses from DS2
Ash summons / AOW AOE
Sekiro bosses with multiattacks
Outrange or stunlock
Chunky healthbars (courtesy of guardian dragon)
Bleed
Hidden content (like half the game is behind fog walls)
Google
Pre-DS FIX DS1 Blight Town performance
Playing offline with EAC disabled
DS1 PVP
Embrace meta builds or suffer
DS2 powerstancing
Not even a problem - use it
Faith builds
Dragon breath + arcane
No Sekiro hook for Sekiro levels
Horse parkour (shadows jump twice)
DS3 multi-phase bosses that oneshot you phase 2
Get summoned to test attacks
Bloodborne arcane with no arcane spells
It's actually DS3 luck - good for endgame scaling
DS2 invisible enemies
AoE them to death

Don't buy before they fix the performance issues. Also be aware that this is the most and the least soulsy game in the series

Edit after 100% and 3 different playthroughs:
Game is BS if you play fair. If you outBS the game it becomes laughably easy, there is no in-between
