Update Decline: Since the map update the game has been a hard decline from a decent state.

Lack of Interesting Characters: Characters in Dota 2 are not compelling enough to "one-trick." Each hero feels lackluster and uninspired, lacking the depth and uniqueness that would make them stand out. The roster fails to provide players with a hero they can truly invest in and master. Two or Three exceptions wont make the other 121 heroes any less boring.

Broken Ban System: The ban system has been broken since release. The current state of the system makes it ineffective and often frustrating.

Overreliance on Point-and-Click Crowd Control: The game is too reliant on "point and click" crowd control abilities and items which is why many consider simplistic heroes like Shadow Fiend, Puck or even Arc Warden to be skilled. This design choice undermines the potential for more complex and skill-expressive gameplay, leading to a stale and unchallenging experience.

Unrealized Potential with Source 2: With the power of Source 2, Dota 2 could create truly skill-expressive heroes with interesting kits. However, the game falls short in this regard, failing to utilize the engine's capabilities to develop heroes that require genuine skill and strategy.

The Illusion of Difficulty: Dota 2 is not as hard as it pretends to be. The perceived difficulty is nothing more than an illusion, perpetuated by outdated mechanics and poor design choices. The game lacks the true depth and complexity that would make it genuinely challenging and rewarding.
