Helskate has so much potential. But in most circumstances I'd say wait for more updates.

I have high hopes for the devs since I do see myself playing this every update and rooting for the changes, my biggest gripes so far after 2 hour of play are such:

-Issues with vaults, love the concept but its way too open ended lacking lots of invisible walls to keep players in bounds, I've had moments where I grinded on rails on there and phased right through solid walls. Jumped off ramps and got stuck floating in the air. and over all the controls and tricks felt so tight and specific that I ended up just leaving and haven't touched a vault since (maybe skill issue, but I love playing skating type games anyway)

-Issues with the camera, I am playing on controller (xbox one) and my biggest problem is it feels jarring when I keep my stick forward to move and the camera shakes from left to right I would love to delve deeper into it but I don't know how to describe it other then stiff.

-Other issues/Compliments: I love the combat it feels simple but fluid, my main complaints have to do with the skating aspect feeling hard to master, not gonna stop me from playing but would love to see like a baby mode feeling more akin to like Bomb Rush CyberFunk style skating. Shop keeper in some instances will show me the shop but I can't buy anything from him as well.
ALSO MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS I CAN'T STOP MOVING WHILE ON MY BOARD

I played my first 60 hours of this game when it first came out, it was boring, lifeless, and un-enjoyable, but now I can comfortably say that I have doubled my hours in the last month, have no plans of stopping, and it is now exactly what I was hyped about when I followed the development of this game before it came out. This is a great game and has so many different play styles for so many different player.

ROCK AND STONE FOREVER!

I'd love to see this more fleshed out, side quests/possibly more playable characters, my biggest gripe is I feel like a game like this needs a NG+ to make getting the rest of the achievements easier to get, combo cracherjack is impossible with max stats unless you farm the final boss like I did. Either way i'm very 50/50 on if this game was worth the $60 title. as a sonic fan I can justify 60, but if the open zone is more fleshed out in a frontiers 2 or other title I would probably buy it.

TL;DR sonic team dub for long time fans, would hope they keep momentum with next title, need more content if I can 100% in 30 hours.

Simply put, this game is worth every cent so long as you have friends, the more you have to play with the more fun you have. It's hard to just put down this game, and you'll end up losing your friends before you get bored of it, cause my god you can get people mad at you, especially since any item or block you use can be used against everyone who even dares play with you.

This is one of my new favorite party games, hands down.
