I gave this game many chances, but it just doesn't deserve the praise it has been given.

The combat is just terrible. Sword fighting is just so obnoxious that I'd rather just take out my bow in a sword fight and hit them in the face once or twice and get the battle over with.

I am constantly getting the bug where I am stuck on a loading screen but the game has resumed, so I just hear bandits murdering me as I am watching a spinning wheel that requires me to force the window to close and restart the game, taking away a few minutes or sometimes even 15 minutes of progress because I have to ration my saves.

Also, what is up with that? I need to have a stockpile of an item in my inventory in order to save the game? As if that doesn't disrespect time invested enough, the fast travel isn't even fast traveling. You're a chess piece walking along the map and can get ambushed by a gang of thugs, which would be cool if the combat wasn't horrendous.

"Wait for time to pass", just watching a dial.
"Sleep", just watching a dial.

I don't remember how much I spent on this game because I've tried giving it multiple chances over the years, but I wouldn't even play this for free because the game is either poorly designed or just doesn't work.

I'm still starting fresh on this game and don't have anything to comment on yet, but I am really surprised with casting spells by drawing with your mouse. I think that is neat.

It is truly impressive that I am able to lose the match before I even had a chance to take my first turn. This does happen consistently. If it was just a once in a while thing, then okay, I get it. They have really good cards. But I would say it is one in every four duels where I'm not able to play the game.

There is a fair variety of spells for each class purchased from a currency earned from playing matches. There are many classes to choose from, some of which have optional roles like healing or damage. Games are rapid, no more than a couple of minutes. Overall it is worth giving a shot. I'd also recommend joining the AoK Discord.

I'd like to note as well that a lot of "players" were just stream snipers from Forsen, Sodapoppin, etc. So a lot of them are just upset that they got banned for spamming their mindless Twitch phrases and emotes in the game chat for attention and left bad reviews aimed at the moderators/devs.

I enjoyed the music and the art. The dialogue was pretty funny, the story was pretty good and I look forward to seeing more.

The game is enjoyable, but micro-transactions wall essential features such as sending mail and inventory space. Banking requires a short but obnoxious chain quest before being able to store items. The game does have a nice charm to it and there is a fair amount of content available for it being a Free To Play game. I enjoyed my time when I first played at launch, but unfortunately like most games, the population eventually dwindles.

But despite the game's flaws I've recently created a new character and played independently without an issue. Dungeons do have a mode for lowered difficulty for the story, which aids in the small population, so you do have the option for soloing content.

Here is the issue I have. Valve did what Blizzard did to Warcraft 3. It wrote over the original, making it a requirement to transition over to the update. There is no reason to do that. If you were planning on making a new game, then make a new game. They're cutting off CSGO and replacing it with what is essentially a clone of Valorant, which in itself was already a clone of CSGO.

Yes, the game looks pretty now. It does. But it feels like it swapped from trying to be a good game, to trying to LOOK like a good game. The classic shop wheel was removed and replaced with the Valorant shop menu. Voice lines went from being recognizable statements in a serious voice to generic goofy lines. Also, the "loadout" is ridiculous and even if it was a good decision, it was executed poorly.

Maybe I'm unfair because I'm not a fan of change, but I think forcing that change rather than giving the choice like it has been in the past is a very poor move.

As of August 7th of 2016, the bosses required five points to be scored in order to win. After the Developer's update at the time, it has been changed to three points. Also changing the Death Star boss's deflecting laser shield to five lives in order to be passed to score. At the time of my review, the developer was quick to respond. Took less than 24 hours for feedback. This was 7 years ago, so I don't remember much other than what was originally in my review, but the game was difficult and even now I struggle to get a very specific achievement. Not that I have an issue with that. It's an achievement, it shouldn't be easy to get. The game on it's own, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. But keeping in mind the constant communication with Mustache Games, it does give the game a bit more wiggle room to be forgiven. Bug fixes and adjustments to the difficulty were resolved swiftly after feedback from the community. Whether the game is good or bad, there was an effort to make it better, which is more than what a lot of games can claim.
