fun af and the servers work now. best co op pve game in a while

seems fun.

10 years later, still a fun game, though it has become more clear that the story more or less does not make much sense. The atmosphere is worse than asylum, gameplay worse than knight. Plot is pretty weak outside the 2 big twists. Still a classic game but not quite the game of the year that we all remember.

Classic. Best atmosphere and best plot of the arkham trilogy. Just solid all around.

Really underrated game. It has a weirdly paced plot that can get cheesy especially near the end of the game but it's a feel good plot that is not egregiously bad as some initial launch day reviews might try to say. This game got review bombed because it is a zombie game and if you look online back in 2019 for "criticisms" of this game you'll see some pathetic excuses for reviews trying to say it is a poorly made game.

The gameplay, graphics, open world, gunplay, and tension is absolutely masterclass. They totally nailed the look of the pacific northwest, they nailed the tension (ESPECIALLY EARLY ON) with the freakers: early on you do not have the tools to take on more than, say, 10 freakers at a time. The starting region also happens to have plenty of dense forests and a quite high amount of spawns to put you on your toes. The graphics are great, nothing like the higher budget exclusives but it definitely has those "wow" moments. The gunplay is immensely fun coupled with the panic you'll feel clearing out freaker nests, especially at night.
I'd like to emphasize just how well this game nails tension and panic. The zombies are fast, loud, juke your shots, and quickly overwhelm you. You can quickly run out of stamina and at that point, you're already dead.

This gameplay loop is incredibly fun, especially when you get to the hordes, and falls short later in the game when the fear factor slows down as you become accustomed to the gameplay loop. Couple that with the huge powerspikes in guns that are obtained, and the game can feel a bit easy at times until you get to face large hordes and stronger zombie types.

A fun game, worth its price, about 40-50 hours long, and will make you feel good at the end of the game, since it has an incredibly happy ending considering how bleak the game feels near the beginning. Beware of occasional crashes, and do buy if you want a fun zombie game with truly scary zombies.

Very long but super fun game. Best of its genre.
