Really great game if you're a fan of The Expanse. If not I would pass on it until you watch the show, but I would definitely recommend doing so, it's probably one of the best Sci-Fi stories out there. The game is pretty limited in terms of gameplay but you should probably expect this from a telltale game, you don't buy a telltale game for the gameplay, you buy it for the story. And if you like the story of The Expanse this definitely knocks it out of the park. I've only watched the show but it gets the atmosphere just right and really feels accurate and just as good as the show in every way. Honestly my only complaint is that the game is fairly short, I was able to finish it and the DLC in under 6 hours but if you're able to pick it up on sale its definitely worth the price.

Honestly just overall feels extremely shallow. I haven't tried the new origins side of things yet but the new primitive interactions are only slightly more interesting then the old system of either just setting them to observe and forgetting about them or invading them. The operations side of things feel incredibly underpowered and do almost nothing while taking a ton of influence to do and taking a ton of time. Such as the indoctrinating them to change their ethics seeming to change the pops ethics but not the actual primitive civilization's ethics. Which is strange as if you reveal yourself then influence their society through the agreement version it will actually change the primitive civilization's ethics. It feels like they were trying to make revealing yourself more powerful in that regard but honestly it just feels kind of average while the espionage side of things feels incredibly underpowered. As it takes doing the operations over and over and over again to actually do any real change to the primitives. Outside of those two paths though there aren't really any other major changes to primitives besides the occasional new event. There are the insight technologies you can occasionally unlock but even with 5 primitives in my empire, most of which I hadn't revealed myself to, it took me 50 years to get my first technology. And for such a minor bonus that it gave it just felt completely worthless. In the end primitives are basically in the same spot they were in before, something to be completely ignored except for the occasional check in if you are going for revealing yourself to them and need to check for when Stellar Culture Shock ends. I really hope Paradox can add more to this to help flesh it out more, as even just adding some more interactions through espionage or revealing yourself could really help flesh it out. Like for example a while back there were a number of mods that added story based interactions to primitives such as pretending to be their gods and using that to enslave them or sending down research devices that allow you to monitor and influence the primitives. So many of these things could fit perfectly into the new systems and this along with revamping some of the older events they brought along (like why can't I intervene in and stop a nuclear war before it wipes out the planet, especially if I've revealed myself to them) would make the DLC a ton of fun and add lots of ways to interact with and mess with the primitive civilizations. But atleast for now I wouldn't buy it for the primitive interaction side of things, only if you're interested in the other parts of the DLC.

Honestly love the new content a lot, adds a lot more jokes and fun moments to the game. If you've never played the original this version is definitely worth it for the price tag. However if you already have the original the price might be a bit too high. I got it during the initial sale for people that already had the game and at that price it was worth it for me. Atleast for me as someone who had already played the previous version of the game I got about a good 4 hours out of it before I felt like I had done everything I wanted. There's probably a few things left I want to visit but that's my estimate for about how long you'll get out of it if you've played the original. Still was a blast though and its up to you whether that much good content is worth this much to you or not for the price increase. But again for a new buyer 100% worth the price and buying this over the old version.

Usually Paradox does a really good job in regards to Stellaris DLC to the point that I usually pre-order them or purchase them as soon as they're out as I've never had problems in the past with their DLC. However this one just misses the mark in a lot of ways. The vassal system added in the update that came along with this DLC is just broken in so many different ways. From monthly loyalty gain being shown as two different values in two different places to not being able to make changes to vassal contracts as they often have a large opinion malice to making certain changes and there is nothing you can do about it. Nothing you can do to force it as the powerful overlord or no deals that can be made to make that malice a little less. I also noticed when creating a vassal from a sector it pops up the window for negotiating their agreement, which I assumed was for setting up how I wanted this new vassal to be. This was not the case though as it seemed to be immediately locked and the timer for renegotiating was already active, not letting me pick if they were a specialized vassal or not. However I know some say that these aren't a part of the DLC and that they are from the free update, so therefore the DLC is fine. I disagree with this as because of the opinion malice mentioned before it is basically impossible to use the specialized vassal types that come from this DLC, as they will never accept. Overall this DLC and free update feel rushed and not finished. With this many bugs and issues I would reccomend waiting until they fix these problems before getting it. Unless the not vassal related stuff in the DLC interests you, such as the new origins, new mega structures, and new enclaves. As so far they all seem pretty good.

Good game so far, leveling is quite fun and I enjoy the crafting systems as well.

Honestly, while it's fun to play it has some serious balance issues right now, if you can deal with that and are alright waiting for the devs to hopefully fix the issues then this is a really good game, however right now beyond my first play through I don't really feel compelled to play it again as the balance issues just make it so easy to completely outpace the AI. Although I do believe this game has a really good base and if they fix the balance issues, and add some more mechanics through DLC, then this game could be amazing.

Haven't played a ton of it yet but can already tell this game is amazing. The fact that basically all equipment you use in the world was made by players is really cool and means that if you just want to relax and wanna take a break from the frontlines you can handle logistics stuff and still be helping your faction win the war. Meanwhile in the actual fighting you again have lots of choices, from different locations on the front line to choose from to different ways to fight such as front line infantry, artillery, tankery, which have different jobs that can be done within those. While the game isn't perfect and it does seem there might be some balancing problems and also the queue times can get a bit long at some places (quick tip if you enter a region by land you jump to the front of the queue, so if you dont want to wait do some logistics and drive up to the region you want to fight in), however other then these the game is great, would 100% recommend to anyone who likes more tactical top down shooters or enjoys crafting and handling logistical type things.

Not sure why so many people are complaining and negative about this DLC, sure it doesn't add a ton for everyone, focusing more on the norse and their religion, it's only $7 and the features it does add are quite nice. And since it only adds stuff for the norse and their religion if you don't like playing as the norse then you don't have to get this DLC. My only real complaint about the content of the DLC is that if you play as an area where you have to deal with adventures attacking you a lot they seem to happen really often and are quite annoying, however the frequency of these can be adjusted using gamerules so not a big problem. Overall this is a very good flavor pack and I can't wait to see what else paradox does with CK3, with expansion packs and flavor packs.

As a big paradox fan I was pretty excited for this game, as I had tried CK2 however I had some problems with it, partially with the user interface being a bit out dated and the amount of DLC the game had, which is normal of paradox games but can make it hard to get in if you don't get in when the game first comes out. However I was worried CK3 would have the problem other paradox games have had where it starts off meh and only becomes good through DLC, however I was surprised to find that what is there currently is really great and gives you tons of options. Of course there are things that can be improved through updates and I hope they go with a style similar to Stellaris where updates contain core changes that make the game better while extra things that add mechanics and stuff to the game are in the DLCs, but even so the game is very great right now, giving you tons of possibilities for what you can do in the game currently. From making your own religion to trying to form an empire, there are plenty of things you can try and hopefully DLCs in the future will just add more things and fix the minor problems the game has now.

Just finished playing the missions that are in the game currently, and what's there currently is very fun and shows quite a bit of promise. The mechanics are pretty great, although the AI could probably use some small improvements since sometimes atleast from what I can tell the villagers don't always notice things, either that or some of the mechanics which I learned from watching people play the game on YouTube could probably be explained better so it's easier to know how to get people to fight and such. Also I don't think it's really explained that well but I'm not sure what a lot of the objects do or how to use them, and I'm not sure how to get factions to fight. But what's there currently is still pretty good and while the current price is a bit much for what's there currently if they keep adding more missions and features over time I can see the price being a great deal.
