Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

Jokes aside, an amazing game, the interactability, the noir/1950's style of the game, the finishers, weapons, secrets, all of it.

The only thing i honestly have to say that's bad/a critic is the hitbox/range of picking up items, a majority of the melee weapons or other items (like cigs and etc) are too small, therefore you need to look directly at them to pick them up, but fuhgeta about it, it ain't that big of an issue.
7.5/8 out of 10, can't wait for more.

Same case with new vegas, as someone who doesn't like open world or rpg games, new vegas was alright and i guess i/you could say i enjoyed it somewhat, the fallout games have a charm and are unique.
Although i liked 4 because it was more visually appealing, the world felt more alive and not isolated/deserted (no pun intended) unlike in vegas, i still refunded it.
Yes, i liked new vegas or 4 in general (still haven't finished it, i'm helping the NCR recruit the boomers), but i just don't wanna play any open world or rpg games honestly, that's the problem, fallout games are nice (or at least new vegas and 4, being the only ones i played), but i still don't wanna play any rpg/open world games.
Fallout games still have their cons and downsides i don't like as well, an example being the invisible and hidden enemy ranking/level system.
I remember meeting the NCR ranger when i got to primm in new vegas, and i was like "Surely i could blow his head off or just one shot headshot him with my hunting rifle/357), nope, no matter how much people look like your average Joe in fallout, they will be way stronger than you.
The other being the gun and armor system, as i said in my new vegas review, you could literally beat the whole game with having the most awful weapons or starter weapons in my case, i literally killed house and benny, and i still have the powder ganger armor (or another faction one, i forgot which though, point is it's bad), because i have NO CLUE where you're suppose to look, and i still have the hunting rifle and the 357.
The money system isn't all that good either, sure, "Loot any junk or garbage you find, you can make like 2 or 3 thousand caps", but repairs or guns/armor cost way more than that, meaning you have to lick a factions balls and be their dirty work do-er, and when they decide you're a good enough boy, they let you have their guns and armor.

TL:DR
-Fallout games are nice, they have their own unique combat (Like the VATS system), movement, enemies, and other stuff, but i just don't like open world or rpg games, their looting system, the enemy rankings, the strength/damage of your weapons, armor or weapon conditions, and other stuff, i'm just not a person nor do i have the proper mindset for open world/rpg games, i have no idea where to look for the best tier of loot and other stuff.
-While i probably would have still liked 4 just as new vegas, it would be the same outcome as new vegas, beating the game or reaching end game with the most awful guns and armor.

As a kid who grew up with flash games, and then mostly singleplayer campaign/story games, i honestly do not like open world/rpg games in general, (A few examples of what games i grew up: When it came to flash, it was both the intrusion games, both the plazma burst games, and other flash games, then when my dad decided to get us internet, i played the gta games (vice city, san andreas, 4, and years later 5), prototype 1 and 2, the prince of persia games, the asssassins creed games, and so goes on), you get the idea, never in my life have i actually enjoyed or played any open world/rpg games in general, the only exception being stick of truth, and the fractured but whole, but those two feel different, even though they count as rpg games.
But fallout is an interesting take, i've always heard about fallout and alot more other games my whole life, but never tried any of them, (Stalker that i tried out a couple of days ago but didn't like it, the binding of issac which i haven't tried, the first bioshock which has an interesting concept/combat and abillity system, but enemies were difficult even on the medium difficulty, and healing had you scouting and looting and looting and looting dead bodies on end, hoping the rng blesses you to find medkits).
A main reason i've never liked and never wanted to try out stalker nor fallout was because of the confusing maps, there's no legends/legend icons on the map of shops or places to go get certain stuff like ammo, health, general shops, etc, although in fallout its much different than stalker, most cities/towns you visit has buildings that have general shop or gun shops, while in stalker, it's nothing like that.
If there was any open world game i wanted to try, and still do (but can't because of my weak and terrible pc, that being a gt 1030, ryzen 3 1200, and top it off with 8 gigs of ram) is rdr2, that game has a way different map, side missions have interesting characters, the in game map has actual legend icons and isn't a dying/rotting and soon to die civilization like fallout and stalker, with broken/abandoned/looted buildings, post apocalyptic, and so goes on.

If you want a tl:dr (Too long, don't read):
-I'm a guy who grew up playing flash games
-When i got internet for the first time, me and my brother grew up with story and campaign games like the prototype games, gta games, prince of persia games, assassins creed games, and etc
-Never liked open world or any rpg game in general, the only two (or you could say three) exceptions being: The stick of truth, The fractured but whole, and Red dead redemption 2.
-However, fallout is an interesting take, i'm currently feeling neutral about the game, i've heard about the fallout franchise my whole life, and i liked the VATS aiming system they have in every game (Despite never playing a fallout game in my life)
-Early game sucks, the exploration or finding your way to a shop or gun shop can be fickle
-Enemies can be a bit difficult but not that big of a chore to take care of, but even on the normal difficulty they really have good aim.
-The item system focuses on you exploring the mojave wasteland setting (Or nevada, whatever) to find better guns, armor, gear, and so goes on, or farm caps and buy the items at a really expensive price, which is something i've never liked in open world or rpg games, meaning you can beat the whole game with mid tier guns, because you had no idea where to look.
-I love the VATS system in the fallout games and think it was a unique concept ahead of its time, which is mainly why i decided to try a fallout game out, + knowing NV had the biggest and most positive reputation out of all the FO games

Enough words though, in all honestly, feeling neutral about this one, i'll write an updated review once i finished the game.

Update: Killed House, and reaching the end..... with still mediocore guns and armor.
Still don't know what to say about the game, i guess it has it's ups and downs, or pro's and cons.
I'd love fallout if money was easy to get (Similiar in far cry 3 and 4 by finishing missions and and liberating outposts), if it wasn't open world/rpg based and side quest heavy, if getting guns and armor/item system was different instead of you having to lick a factions balls to get top tier items.
And instead of being open world, it had a semi-open world/free roam like the old assassins creed games or the prototype series.

Meh, go play the first one, i can't with the bullschit asss map, the boredom, dumb puzzles, the game having you go back and forth in the same area like 20 minutes before you figure out where you're actually suppose to go, and so much other terrible things about this game.
Outlast 2 isn't the baddest of them all, or the worst, or the most TERRIBLE game in an overexaggerated way, but the first one was much better, i don't think i'll be finishing this game, or if i do ever finish this game out of boredom and having absolutely nothing better to do, i'll have to look up 10 diff walkthroughs.

A bit bland if i have to say, feels like a reskin of 4, but hey, XP still exists in this game, and it's nothing like horrendous 5.

Not a bad game honestly, i don't wanna give an exaggerrated long review, but the story gameplay/progression is kinda meh, not terrible or dogwater, but not that interesting.
Plot however is nice, you come to arrest a cult leader, only to be betrayed by your reinforcments/dispatch, and overrun by them, it's sort of copy pasted (Every far cry game has you alone, or you with an incredibly weak resistance team fighting against a dictator, island leader, or just a higher up with an army).
Not that big of a fan of the takedowns, but the ledge/underwater takedowns are really nice and straight to the point, unlike in 3 and 4, you drag them, and then kill them underwater, the death from above/height takedowns are also pretty nice, they don't forcibly snap your camera like in far cry 3 and 4, i also don't like that they removed the abillity to completely exit your wingsuit, allowing for insane DFA takedowns, in 3 and 4, you could hold E on pc (I don't know what the button is for consoles) to completely exit your wingsuit, and if you were above someone, you'd instantly get prompted to a DFA takedown, i think you can still do these wingsuit takedowns with a parachute since you can exit the parachute completely, but it's not the same though.
Healing is a bit different, not a big fan of it too, but i like it's realism.
However, speaking of realism and the healing system, i don't like that they removed healing syringes like in 3 and 4 (I don't think 1 or 2 had them), and you're limited to medkits, which are fast, yes, but can be bought for 300 bucks at shops, i don't like this because (Call me an ign journalist or say i suck a,ss) they really stepped up the enemy/AI difficulty, it feels like they really go for headshots (Or they actually do), and their guns are on steroids, like they hurt twice as harder than in 3 or 4, Maybe i'm just stupid and never noticed/looked through all the skills for health upgrades (Or if they exist), but yeah, having limited medkits that can be bought in the shop (or rarely found in free roam) and no healing untill you start regening is sort of hard, not too hard though.
The wingsuit is also a tiny bit different from what i noticed, unlike in 3 and 4 where you have to spend basically a millisecond in the air to be able to activate it, you actually have to spend more time in the air to activate it.
Anyways, not a bad game, maybe a 7/7.5 out of 10.

Updated review after a couple of hours of playing more: Actually can't stand this game.
-Money system is terrible, you barely gain any money from anything other than hunting, and you can't even loot dead bodies for their random sellable items like in 3 and 4.
-XP is non existent, skills are instead replaced by perk points, which you gain by doing glorified geocaches (couldn't come up with a better word describing it than this), you can also do challenges, but once you've done the basic ones (SMG kills, shotgun kills, AR kills, etc), You're left with other ones that force you to do glorified guns for hire/resistance member challenges
-Perks/skills are too expensive for no reason
-Game focuses too much on the Guns for hire/companion bullschit to the point where it's like an actual fhetish
-Stealth is too hard in this game, enemies literally have echo location, and i tried liberating the fang center over 20 times in stealth and just gave up, because the enemies got alerted for no reason (Didn't see a dead body or anything)
-The game has a citizen rescue and property destroying system that increases your "Resistance points", and gives you xp for the region you're in in order to have the final confrontation mission with the family members, meaning you can do every side mission/citizen rescue/property destruction in one region, and either fully unlock the region/kill the sibiling in that region, or do all of them and have 80/90% of the region complete, with only having to do one or two story missions in that region, which is the weirdest thing in this game.
-Enemies that are high on bliss are literal super soldiers, i blasted an enemy high on bliss with 3 shotgun shells to the face, and only on the third one did the enemy die.
-Back on the money system, guns or other stuff can cost up to 5k or more, and you'd have to take multiple hunting trips to sell your inventory and go back, or, forcibly (because the game forces you to spend perk points on stuff you don't want to) buy the inventory upgrade (which probably costs alot, never looked at that specific perk cost) just to hold more pelts and other stuff to sell.

I could go on and on, but i really don't like the game, the money system and xp system, the expensive perk points, the glorified geocache magazines, and other stuff really makes this game unlikeable, i'll still finish the main story all the way to the ending, the game isn't physically or mentally unplayable, but i really don't like it.

Childhood core memory unlocked
Can't say anything bad about the game
Only thing i can say that's not positive/with a bit of criticism is that the game isn't worth 15 bucks, maybe that's pocket change in west europe, the us, or any other first class/developed country, but here in serbia? Yeaaaa.. nah..

I love the 90's/retro or analog horror/vhs setting to the hud/gui and overall style of the game, combining old and vintage styles with Sci fi/futuristic enviroments or plot/gameplay of games really gives goosebumps and an eerie/nostalgic feeling.

Game is a tiny bit difficult to get at first, but with the help of a few friends, i understood the creatures, maps, how quotas work, items, and the rest of the game in no time.
8.5/10 at best, the moons are kind of repetitive, with the only two settings/styles of the moons being a forest like map, or a canyon/deserted one (even though there are multiple moons making you think there are other regions or biomes, but it's like selecting any missions in one specific deeprock galactic biome, except you know it's the same biome, but only different mission objectives), but even with the forest one combined with a vhs style + the low quality graphics done on purpose, it adds to the nostalgic/goosebumps feeling.

I also absolutely love the various amount of different items, and the fact that you can fight back, which is rare in most horror or horror survival games, where instead it has you running like a helpless dimwit, hoping you don't get killed.

I still have a majority or nearly the entirety of the items to buy, and the special moons to play on, meaning that review is subject to change, maybe not on score, but on my experience.
