When the game is good, it's really good. The immersion is high, graphics are good, gunplay feels good. I really enjoy exploring the world. Even with some weird monster spawns or A-life issues, or the generally high difficulty, it's an 8/10 for me.

But the performance and stability is pretty bad for me. I've installed it on a NVME SSD with a Ryzen 7 5800x3d CPU and my load times are close to 2 minutes. (Which is extra punishing if you're struggling with a mutant or infinitely-respawning enemies.) Sometimes after reloading a save, my frames drop to low teens and never recover without restarting the game. I've had to put it on DLSS Ultra Performance with medium settings just to get 60 fps for 1440p (+ frame gen gets me up to ~100). Shader compiles happen semi-frequently and take minutes.

I'll play for an hour or two and be having a good time before the performance drops, or a cutscene bugs out, or it spawns the same bloodsucker back-to-back while I wait out a several-minute emission in a barn. And then I'll get frustrated and close it. I want to like it, but I'm not having the same generally good experience others are. It at least needs more optimization patches, imo. I'll flip this to a positive review if/when that happens, assuming they get to it before I give up.

It was fine. I was curious because I thought the questions might be interesting, and it was cheap. But it tried too hard to be edgy / scary, and failed. It's only a buck, but I still didn't really enjoy it. See no reason to replay it.

Yes, it's short. But it's fun, and a novel approach to puzzle games. I liked it.

The game is alright. If you liked the first, this is more of the same. So why don't I recommend it?

- Crashed my computer. I can't even remember the last time something did that.
- Alt+Tab locks the game up and you have to restart. Until you search around and figure out that it only works in Windowed mode. (Borderless works)
- Enemies feel spongy.

It's okay, but I'm not a big fan and crashing my PC is frustrating.

Honestly? I loved the single player. It was loads of fun. I never got into the online portion due to the shark cards. They set the cost of things so high that it "encouraged" you to buy shark cards to be able to play with the cool toys. I would have still recommended checking out the SP, though.

Now? OpenIV, their attempts to kill modding and continue nickel-and-dime'ing their customers... I can't recommend supporting them. Don't give them your money until they act in a pro-consumer fashion.

This has been worth every dollar, and all of the hype. Fast-paced action that's extremely satisfying. I'd strongly recommend this game.
