This is probably one of the most psychotic and overstimulating games I've ever played. It's like Mario 64 if Mario was constantly on LSD and meth

Honestly, the battle system on its own is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phenomenal enough to potentially hold the game up for some people. But so many of the things surrounding it just suck. The story, while its opening is really good, falls flat on its face and really struggles to get going after the prologue. The gems system, clearly inspired by gems in Xenoblade Chronicles 1, just doesn't do any of the things that made gems WORK in XC1 and it genuinely feels like it's punishing you for interacting with it before you unlock specific methods to game the system close to the end of the game. Class emblems, while really cool, just feel so tacked on. You get small nearly irrelevant stat bonuses and a few skills that most characters just don't need.
It is a GOOD GAME, it's just not for me and I can see it being tough for other people with similar tastes to get serious mileage out of.

Honestly a really fun and underrated game. The story is a bit.... carbon copy of P5 but honestly that doesn't matter. The Phantom Thieves are just so much fun as a group and the combat absolutely carries. I kinda really love this game

It starts out fun enough but it's mission after mission of "Kill all enemies" with barely any variety to the point where it just starts to drag on and on.
