Work hard!

Edit:

The game default setting is HARD. I've seen negative reviews rightfully complaining about that.

You need to go into settings and change the labeling so it will label the cards ALPHA, BETA, etc. if you don't enjoy that part of the game. You can also do this when the game gets harder in progression at any time. You can also adjust the time of the work day, and the costs.

This game is a Papers Please type game. I have not completed it yet, but I'm finding it fun and interesting.

Also some parts of the game are tedious as in that's the point. You can refuse to do the tedious things and explore those paths.

Ringo rewards!

EDIT: The game did NOT suck. It was in fact for me, and this isn't a game I would've thought was for me. It was incredibly fun and entertaining, more so than most games I've gotten the last few years. There's been 2 major updates since my play through so I'm looking forward to setting aside the time to do another one all over again.

IF ON THE FENCE GET IT, IT IS WORTH IT.
----

I've played this game for 20 minutes. I got it on sale for around $8

In 20 minutes I can tell you the work put into this game is ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE PRICE. So far, while being only VERY early in, only chapter 2, the base area looks very format, like it was made with stock items though nice motif.

But it's obviously a conscious design choice because the voice acting thus far in the narration of the stories, the recording, all 10/10. The artwork on the children's books is also 10/10

As to the game it's too early for me to say but even if ultimately I ended up finding it not for me (which I doubt so far I'm really enjoying it. It's not too hard, it's creepy and entertaining) I wouldn't feel I'd wasted my money as this is a game that had love and work put into it.

So yeah if you're teetering on the edge I'd say buy it without hesitation. Especially on sale.

If the game sucks I'll come back and say so, but I doubt you'll see that edit. ;)

YES WITH A BUT

The game is extremely fun. It's like a stripped down Darkest Dungeon. And there's replay value in beating the game on harder modes, and unlocking and beating challenge modes. And if that appeals there's 20 plus hours of fun awaiting you for under $5 so you should get it.

The problems?

ACHIEVEMENTS ARE BROKEN

Some achievements take multiple times to unlock, if at all. Others will not unlock. If Steam achievements matter to you, this is annoying and hasn't been fixed apparently in years per the forum.

SOME BUGS ARE UNADDRESSED (nothing game breaking)

One class has a weapon that stops working if you improve the weapon.

Now, again this is under five bucks with a single person who made the game. So it falls under 'well that's a bummer' but it's still worth getting.

Welcome to the Wasteland.

If you're here from the Amazon series, this is the game you want. 100%

If your PC isn't a potato and you're not using AMD, then you can run it fine w/o modding a darn thing.

BUT...you'll want to mod it later on. There's plenty of guides on that it's a pain and it'll take up your day, but it's worthwhile.

If you just want a good FPS with less talky talky ...that's Fallout 4 you're looking for. You can also build bases.

If you're looking to have the Fallout experience, as someone who's played and finished all the games (not Tactics ;p) ...this is it. And if you find you love it as much as I do, then there's Fallout 1, 2, and 4 to go have fun in.

And yes, thou shalt be sidetracked by brahman sh*t

Hello, if you're here from the TV show let me tell you a couple of things as someone who's played and completed every fallout game since I played the OG in 1997

Fallout New Vegas is the game you want to get if you loved the tv show. THAT game is a brilliant RPG that people are still into mmhmmph years later. And look if your PC isn't a potato and you don't have AMD graphic card, you can just play the base game without a problem. Or you can spend a day modding it for a really smooth experience.

IF you can't deal with old graphics (I don't find them terrible but look I get it) or don't want to do ANY modding that takes effort (which I REALLY get) ...this game has a lot of fun in it. However many have said it is more FPS than RPG, which has a lot of truth to it. There's great story to be had and fun adventures...

BUT

You're not playing your own character, not REALLY. You're Shaun's parent. Which is a lot more of a lockin than being a Vault Dweller or a Courier or even a Chosen One. Your dialogue choices are never fully spelled out, so your response might be wildly different than your intent. (SAVE OFTEN)

You do get to build your own settlements so if you're into building bases? THIS GAME HAS THAT. (I don't care for it myself but most people seem to)

This game also has incredible companions and the DLC is almost mandatory for how much better it makes the game in some respects.

This is a good Fallout game.

Basically avoid Fallout 3 (unless/until youve played everything else and just need moar Fallout)
And avoid Fallout 76
Yes, I've heard it's gotten better.

Unless you REALLY have an itch for a casual solitaire game, get it on sale.

It's cute. The art is cute. The story is Jane Austin-y.

It's nice and light and entirely unremarkable. A great game to wind down with.

Edited to add: The music is really good.

This is an EXTREMELY fun game that is entirely dependent on other players to be fun.

So it's hit or miss based on who's playing. That said, the game became an unplayable hellhole for awhile due to people easily getting free accounts. Now they have a referral system for free accounts (otherwise you pay a couple of bucks) that that *largely* keeps out the worst elements.

You'll still find toxic players and game throwing, but it's nothing like what it was, and ranked play is mostly pretty good.

The game itself has a sharp learning curve which isn't particularly forgiving because the only real way to 'get good' is to play.

This game has a lot of potential and a LONG way to get to it.

But, you should get it anyway (on sale).
