A very ambitious game, both in terms of immersive gameplay features like the buddy system and enemy AI/Player Reputation interactions as well as the story. I'd kill to get a Far Cry sequel in this vein, with a similarly dark tone, but it's something virtually guaranteed to never happen. It's nihilistic, bleak and brutal. As in the conflicts IRL that inspire the Central African setting, the violence is largely meaningless; the factions are almost purposeless besides murder and pillage, they barely pretend to adhere to the ideologies they take their names from and are in practice largely indistinguishable from each other. Outsiders (including you) ruthlessly exploit the conflict via arms trading, murder for hire and illegal extraction of local resources (the in-game currency is explicitly conflict diamonds). Almost every Government official, or person in a local position of power is actively complicit in these activities, or worse. Betraying your comrades or employers is seen as par for the course. It doesn't matter who you kill, what your choices are, in the end, those with blood on their hands can never escape the Heart of Darkness.
P.S. Would highly recommend playing with the Far Cry Realism mod and community fixes, being able to quicksave with mods is also a godsend and helps avoid a lot of tedium going back and forth between safehouses
P.P.S SAW mg, M-GL and Deagle combo is CRACKED

Basically a dream WW2 shooter, if you want big levels based on authentic locations that you can lay total waste to and hands on access to a sizeable portion of the armaments used in that period, you've got it here. There are some gripes I have about the AI, and the graphics for the environments aren't what you'd call mindblowing, among other things, but the core gameplay is fun and challenging, like the best parts of the old Battlefront games. It's also encouraging seeing how passionate the dev is about making substantial improvements/updates to the game and how engaged they are with community feedback. Especially considering how cheap it is for the level of content already available. Really looking forward to seeing more of the lesser known or discussed theatres of the war represented in upcoming DLC.

More of the same from Journey, exceptionally pretty, with an even better soundtrack. Some of the later set-piece moments feel really special. Not challenging by any means, but it being relaxing is the point (hence the many meditation spots, which are definitely worth chilling out at for a minute or two).

Yeah, it's fun

Lovely little walking sim, as far as they go. Make sure you play online, the moments you meet other people on your journey are a big part of what makes this feel special. Losing one travel partner early on and finishing the latter half with another, really nailed home the melancholy beauty of the game for me. Would absolutely recommend you get it on sale, as it can be finished in less than two hours/one sitting.

Groovy soundtrack, cool theme and artstyle
Gameplay is like a more tactical, side-on version of Hotline Miami, quite fun
Mileage may vary given the overwhelming difficulty of some missions compared to others (that one level with the time limit made me want to scream) and it's annoying when items get stuck in front of vents
Would love to see another game that expands on the limited story

There's a good game somewhere in here, buried under all the uninspired open world garbage and broken missions

Not for me, bulletsponge enemies and crafting makes the main gameplay loop a snore and a chore
Plus what little story there is isn't very interesting
Nice aesthetic if you're into 80's nostalgia though
