I've been playing this game for 11 hours at the time of review.

10 hours of them spent in Training mode learning combos I've seen online and fooling around with the open combo system.

30 mins unlocking costumes and emotes for my favorite characters.

30 mins playing online Vs. The online works fine when both players have good internet but, tanks really hard when someone starts to lag. The match becomes a slideshow unless the connection recovers. And at least for me, your input delay goes way up when you just want to stream to your friends on discord.

Would go back in time and play this game if could and had a PS3 back then.

This game is blistering fast and beautiful. I've never played racing game like F-Zero in the past, but this makes me wish I had. Just try the demo. It speaks for itself. Even with no experience, the controls didn't take all that long to understand.

Is MKX a good MK? Yes.
Does it look nice? Yes.(modified Unreal Engine 3 like Killing Floor 2)
Is it easy enough to play and learn to improve? Yes.
Is it a good alternative if I don't own a PS4 or XBONE?Yes.
Does it run well? Yes.(if you got a high end PC)

Despite it's terrible start being so bad that NRS and WB had to step in and help fix it,it's getting a lot of support to help improve the game's performance over all. At this point though,it's pretty shaky on lower spec systems due to it's poor optimization. It's basically the Crysis of Fighting Games on the PC so I'd recommend being on par or above the recommend specs if you plan on buying the game in the future.Just be sure to do your homework first to avoid wasting you time and money on a game you can't run.But Hey,steam refund is a thing now so you should be fine anyway.

Update 1 6/20/15:Previous dev in charge of the port High Voltage is being replaced by a new dev Q.L.O.C. In case you're wondering they're the guys who ported Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter x Tekken to the Pc.The Future is starting to look better for this game.

Even if you're not a fan of the series. AVGNA is still a fun platformer with nice 8-bit visuals, great sound track, and a good challange.Although,it's pricetag is asking for a bit much so I'd recommend picking it up when it goes on sale.
