If you like many people including me got into the borderlands franchise by playing Borderlands 2 first and enjoyed it IMMENSELY.. Then this game is for you!
It's worth playing just to see where it all started, how the borderlands franchise came to the place it is now.

And also to see more of your favourite characters from BL2 like Brick, Roland (cries), Mordecai and Lillith, among with the npcs.
PS: You will still want to kill claptrap...

It's like a pixelated dark souls with platforming...

Yeah on a more serious note the dark atmospheric imagery is dope, combined with the voice acting, music, enemy design and sound effects.. This all creates an incredible immersive memorable hardcore experience.
Map design is awesome, fun combat, epic boss fights and interesting puzzles.. yeah you get it.. awesome metroidvania, worth playing for sure!

You could play this game for Tiny Tina alone..
Best character in a video game :') crazy child..
Moxxi hot too.. Claptrap is stupid, everyone hates him..
Yeah you'll fit right in, go try it! 10/10 experience.

Pleasantly surprised, it's a hidden gem! ^_^

I was simply expecting a game similar to doom, and yes the smaller part of the game was exactly that.
But the main part of the game is interesting dialogue which tackles heavy intense topics and provides insight. The major choices you make in this game matter, affecting the overall verdict/ending of the game. It's a unique experience and is worth a playthrough.

You will DIE a lot.

But it feels so accomplishing to progress through the game, similar to the feeling you get after defeating a dark souls boss.
