Take it for what it's worth.

Starfield is faithful to the classic Bethesda game design: dated and backwards in so many aspects but addicting and "classic" at its core, especially for returning players to this gameplay loop.

At times this game feels prisoner of Bethesda's impossible scope. While some areas of it are somewhat full of content and lively, it's hard to judge them with 2023 eyes. To be honest, this would've been a 10/10 in 2015 and a great game in 2018. However, by 2023 standards it falls short when it comes to pretty much every aspect.

I've seen it being written off as the most 7/10 game ever released and while that's obviously meant as a burn... is it? In a point in the industry in which games such as ToTK, BG3 and AW2 are all released in the same calendar year, being given a 7 is no mean feat. And if I'm completely honest, I really enjoyed my 60+ hours playing this game. This is not what most wanted and nowhere near what Bethesda alluded to before release but what we have here is a very solid game that's fun and full of interesting content. However, what most of you should focus on in my opinion is what probably led you here: this is a Bethesda game. If you, like me, fell in love with Skyrim... this is not it... BUT (and bare with me) it DOES scratch that itch every once in a while. And that's more than what I can say about a lot of games these days.

I enjoyed my time with it and if you think you're the right person for it... you'll enjoy it too.

I have over 700 hours in total

From a technical point of view, the game is amazing. It runs well, movement is silky smooth and the gameplay from a casual perspective is really fun.

Blizzard as a company though, not good. Marketing tactics, also not good.

It's a good game though, a shame that it never lived up to its expectation. I really like it and I wish more people played it so that they see how good it feels to play it. However, Blizzard seems to be purposefully making it fail.

I think that making it available on Steam is a good step but way too late. It should've happened as soon as they started ruining it back in like 2018-2019 but oh well

Let's get some questions out of the way

Can you play it without knowing ANYTHING about Harry Potter?
- Yep, totally, though you might not enjoy it THAT much. The game is full of nods to the books/movies. Like too many IMO so bare that in mind

Is combat any good?
- Combat is the best part for me. SO satisfying and full of diversity. The enemy types do get a bit repetitive but I never got tired of obliterating even the tiniest spider

Is this a good adventure game?
- Yes, I'd say so. I'd put it at the same level as the latest Assassin's Creed games. They, like this one are good. Not crazy, go-tell-all-your-friends-about-it good but pretty solid

What about the RPG elements?
- Nonexistent. Yeah, you can customize your character but that's it. Your decisions have almost no consequences whatsoever. You'll usually choose between a nice person or an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ answer but it doesn't matter what you choose it won't change the outcome. I was very disappointed at this and I lost my motivation to really get into some aspects of the story. I'd much rather have no choice at all than for them to fake it like this.

Does it run well?
- Ran flawlessly for me. Ryzen 7 3700x and RTX 3080, mind you, but I didn't have any issues. I've got friends playing it on more limited hardware but the exprience seemed good for them too

All in all, solid game and a recommended buy!

Great battle royale. Good performance on PC. It's fun and refreshing. The movement is buttery smooth for those who value that aspect and it's free to play so what's there to lose?

It is amazing. Go buy it. I've never been such a big fan of roguelikes but this one takes the cake in terms of content, slow progression and story telling in a way that didn't make it feel like a drag to restart the runs. Combat is so polished, fun and most importantly, FAIR. I feel like what puts me off from roguelikes is that sometimes you get so many bs deaths or levels are hard just because. This game is not like that and rewards you every step of the way. 10/10 a MUST have

I mean, it's alright. I've always liked perfecting movement in every game I play and this is pretty much the whole point of the gameplay. I haven't played much but it's a good game to have for those moments in which you don't have anything to play and you don't wanna think too much. Just play this while you have a video or a podcast in the background and it'll be ok.

My only gripe with it is that it's not challenging at all. I've played almost 5 hours and at no point I had to re do a checkpoint more than twice in order to get a jump. I get the whole "challenge yourself to beat your PB" mindset but I wouldn't mind struggling a little bit every once in a while.

I'm a big fan of open world third person adventure RPG games (wow that was a mouthful). If you like those types of games, well this is a must.

I think that my biggest "be aware" would be that this is not a particularly easy game. I'm completely ok with that, I like the challenge, but if you're expecting some Assassin's Creed level of difficulty, you may wanna choose the easiest preset. Anyway, I finished all the side quests and the main story line in 30 hours. I still have to play the DLC. I didn't necessarily RUSH through it but I like optimizing my gameplay so if you are a more laid back type of player it may take you considerably longer to finish it (and that's ok!).

At times dialogues or animations might feel a bit off but overall the game is great, it won't disappoint!

Oh and lastly, I played it on a 3080 + 3700x and there were no crashes and no performance problems whatsoever

If you can look past the bugs, this game is great. Amazing story-telling and immersion. It takes some time to get used to the systems and environment, just be patient and you'll definitely like it.

If you are not dying to play it, I'd wait for more patches. It's not as bad as the media made it sound like, though. I didn't experience any game-breaking bug. Only visual things that were pretty funny.
