Server issues aside, it is a good game

Solid survival game, Servers certainly still seem to have some Lag issues, but they are minimal. Development seems very active which is excellent to see.

Art direction is brilliant everything looks so very... Conan. Everything you build looks Conanesque it is great.

It is certainly similiar in many ways to Ark, and without a doubt the developers have played and taken ideas from ARK but I feel like not doing so would just be stupid. Ark does a lot of things right and not learning lessons from other games as a game dev seems.. Stupid.

SOlid CRPG. Very morally ambigious, choices feel like they matter

So the game is fun, and is a solid base. It is buggy as all hell though so just be aware. Devs seem to be continuely improving it which is great

Despite being in early access Darkest Dungeon feels like a polished completed games, that is until a bit of text fails to link properly. Aside from that you could ahve sold this game to me as a finished product and I would never know.

At 22 hours in I still have 2 bosses left to clear in the content that has been released so far. I suspect I progressed through the game a bit faster then most as I had watched some 20-30 hours of streams of it before I could get my hands on it. This meant I had a good idea of what to do from the get go which saved me from many failed runs.(Pro Tip: Buy Shovels)

Something that may put people off is that although kind of marketed as a hard game it is not really. People in your party will die from time to time but it is rarely particularly punishing. It does still manage to create a great sense of loss though and it is fairly rare for death to be completely unavoidable. The RNG can and will ♥♥♥♥ you over on occassion but the game gives you plenty of tools to deal with it, and retreating is relatively easy and costs little.

The turned based combat is brilliant. Elegant in it's simplicity yet expansive in it's depth, a good player using it well will out perform a poorer player. The combonation of a large number of skills, on a large number of classes with limited people in a party and limited skills to each person creates a huge amount of choice before going into a dungeon. Once in the dungeon the chooses are very but vital, with a large number of factors coming into effect. The game is really good at informing you about everything too, never do I feel like I lack information.
