A great game. I enjoyed Langrisser back in the days, when I had a Sega Mega Drive system. This game is much like Langrisser, but with deeper mechanics and modern 2d-RPGs amenities.
There are some UI issues late game, but other than that it's great. Don't listen to the people who complain about the story, they've just seen it all because they play too much and now they want something niche. For a less experienced gaming enjoyer the writing and the story are just fine.

Pros:
- Ship and base-building mechanics are compelling and immersive.
- The RPG elements may not be top-notch, but they're solid.
- The volume of content available is impressive.
- Your first run-through is a sensory overload in the best way, leaving a lasting impression.
- The game offers strong replay value.
- The graphics are so striking that I found myself overusing the photo mode.

Cons:
- The characters fall flat, especially when compared to beloved figures like Tali and Garrus from Mass Effect, or even Bethesda classics like Lucien Lachance and Balgruf. Here, you'd be hard-pressed to name more than two or three compelling characters.
- The game leans heavily into political messaging, which feels forced and one-sided. The world-building screams "girl power" and "diversity." This is most evident in the oddly uniform bisexuality and judgmental nature of your companions, making them sound more like Netflix caricatures than genuine people.
- The dialogue and plot options often leave you wanting, specifically when you're looking to disagree but are given no such choice. The writing often feels clumsy, as though penned by someone more focused on pushing an agenda than on nuanced storytelling.
- The melee combat is cumbersome and unsatisfying. Even Fallout: New Vegas, a game that's nearly 15 years old, handles it better.
- The loot system lacks depth and nuance. With around 15 classes of weapons and just tiers within those classes based on your level, as well as only a handful of armor types, it all starts to feel monotonous.
Enemy variety is lacking. You'll encounter a limited range of humanoid foes along with a few alien types, but they all end up feeling remarkably similar. Even a 2006 game like Oblivion offers more variety.

An amazing game, time well spent.
Gameplay:
The content isn't repetitve, never had to grind in this game. Builds are very versatile, opportunities endless. There's an extra boss - the only thing that actually requires grinding, my endgame party with 70lvl x4 and 50lvl x4 characters felt too weak for it.
Graphics&Sound:
Simply glorious, you always get this warm and cozy feeling when playing this game. I especially like the transitions from day to night and the other way around. The way the melody goes on but with different instruments, simply a bliss. There's no epic soundtrack like Olberic's from Octopath Traveller I, and I liked the last boss's song from the first game better. Nevertheless it's still really good.
Story:
Maybe I don't consume enough media to be this "seen-it-all-and-its-cliche" guy, but I loved the story. At first I didn't like the characters - their voices even, but I grew to like them. Some stories are plain better than others, but that's the only downside - not all stories are equal. The final battle is now a part of the main plot, unlike the first part where it's technically a side quest. Travel banter and character interactions is fun. Also the sidequests actually have consequences even in the ending cutscenes.
Cons:
Long commute in some cases - fights happen every N steps, so sometimes it's annoying because you are very much overleveled and overpowered, have no interest in EXP or other rewards from the area, but you still get the random encounters and they take time and break the storytelling.
Final areas' enemies are the same - I've noticed as I was cleaning 4th or 5th character's final level that enemies in their last chapter areas are the same - same golems, elementals and other cliche JRPG mobs. Also they don't make sense storywise sometimes - you are in a crowded city or in an empty castle, but you still get random encounters with some golems and elementals which is strange.
No clear indications for stats - I had to google to find that some things potency is dependant on your elemental defence. Or that there's no point in going above 999 in a stat. Or that some buffs scale off your elemental attack on a physical attack.

LGBTqusition, very unauthentic, the characters are not interesting and you have no desire to listen to dialogues, complete side quests etc.
Pros:
- good mechanics - no pseduo 3d like in DA:O and DA:2, good hitboxes, collision detection and so on
- skill system - superb skills, albeit very simplified and console-oriented. Many unique ways to make a good character, skills are interconnected and fun to use. Not just attacks with different animations and formulas
- views/graphics - beautiful scenery, stylish and enjoyable
- end game content - post-completion, just for fun content
Cons:
- political agenda, more below
- "diversity hires" among characters - this is supposed to be a medieval game based on Europe of the time. Instead there are mostly black characters which is ridiculous because there are no asians or other "minorities", so it's just pro-black. I'm a minority myself and wouldn't want people that don't belong there in universes/stories based on my people's history and culture. Leave the European culture alone
- selective "progressiveness" doesn't make sense. In any society that's medieval or below people were very racist, chauvinistic and bigotic - even today you can come visit developing countries - you'll be surprised they are less progressive than characters in this supposed-to-be medieval game. In this game any farmer that speaks like a redneck is suddenly a progressive and open-minded person when it comes to skin colour and sexual orientation. When it's not about these things they are suddenly chauvinistic and racist(towards elves/dwarves) again.
- MMO-like generated quests - a lot of content which is bland and generated, so you have to play not like a completionist that does everything but rather like a MMO player that focuses on progress. So less like DA:O and DA:2, more like single player world of warcraft - 70%+ of content skipped and no regrets.
- Absolutely no immersion - I played DA:O's 50 hours in like 4 days, then I played DA:2 for 30 hours in 3 days(I'm sick so having a good gaming run of Dragon Age), but this game I play for like 2 hours and it gets boring
- Feels like a new game that's more of a slasher/MMO than an RPG

I can say that the teams that worked on graphics, mechanics, engine and physics are good, they did a good job. But the storywriters, game designers and other did a terrible job. I'd rather re-play DA:O one more time than play this game again.

Great game. Replayability is high, even though you start understanding how "simple" it is later. Also there are way too many imbalanced things at the moment - late game becomes boring, you just auto every battle.
