First 3 things to make sure you have the best experience possible!

-Game Properties > Controller > Disable Steam input
(Steam input conflicts with the games input system and can cause performance issues)
-If you have a 144hz+ monitor, either set the refresh rate to 120hz, or 60hz.
(The game uses a double or triple buffer vsync, so the refresh rate must be a multiple of 60 to ensure a 60fps lock)
-If you are on a Laptop or have a Desktop with an integrated GPU, make sure Windows is set to utilize the right GPU

With that out of the way.

Nier is a personal favorite of mine.. Ever since the launch of the Original back in 2010.. everything about that game remains true in this version. This is an updated release with better visuals, and a reimagined OST. The OST of the original is legendary, and these new arrangements are beautiful as well.

Visuals - Much improved over the original, although the updated character models may take some getting used to
Sound - OST is as beautiful as ever. They've redone the voice acting with all the originals reprising their roles
Gameplay - Smoother than ever. 60fps locked and much improved over the original
Story - This game tells an amazing story, and that story isn't told over a single playthrough. You must play the game through multiple times to see the true ending.. and it's well worth it.

This game is a definite buy from me. The PC version has some quirks as I mentioned in the beginning. It's disappointing that there's no in game option for Vsync, and that the animations are tied to framerate, so if you run at faster than 60fps, the game is sped up. The controller issue has nothing to do with the game itself, but how Steam injects its custom input in to the game.. so it can't be docked points for that. Disabling steam input does the trick and fixes the issue.. so no problems there.

Square and Toylogic.. This is a barebones port which only does what it needs to do and nothing more... I would like to see better support for the PC platform in the future. As well as patches improving the game and fixing issues that should arise. Nier Automata was forgotten about and PC gamers were left with a port that required outside mods to fix. That should never be the case and you should work harder to give the PC platform the version it deserves.

That said.. my experience with the game has been essentially flawless. It simply lacks the flourishes that PC gamers expect. Please do better.
