A very good top down real-time strategic game. You hardly ever see this genre and Red Solstice 2 is far more polished than the first game, even if I do miss some mechanics that are no longer in the game like placing your own sandbags or managing light level for hit and damage bonuses.

Unlike what the other commentators say you don't need the DLC to perform well at all. This is a game about positioning and skill and knowledge which will only come from hours of gameplay. The DLC does add some strong options however but they are not necessary to complete most campaigns.

Overall if you enjoy this type of gameplay it is worth a buy. The player numbers are much smaller now since it's been a few years since release but it's still worth playing. Just ask for help in the discord or invite some friends to play with. However missions are still possible to complete solo since you're given three AI bots to play with and control and they perform quite well as long as you give them orders regularly.

The game uses matchmaking, a game that has 400 players gets subdivided into regions and then further into individual locations. There is no New Zealand, or Australian servers in the SEA region which is one of the few options available.
Despite playing at prime time, searching for a match for well over 5 minutes I was unable to find a game.
Don't bother if you're looking for a real FPS to play, any kind of match making system is a massive red flag.

So I'm changing my recommendation to positive.

One of the best free to play games out there, now on PC.
If you go into playing a roguelike without expecting to fail lots, you're gonna have a bad time.

This is quite possibly one of the worst games I have ever played. Don't bother.

I have not played a point and click adventure this good for a long long time.
It has good graphics, good soundtrack, good gameplay and a good storyline.

Yes, it is a bit short, however it's the journey that counts and with it being on sale for $1.74 USD at the moment, it's well worth the price for the amount of time you'll get out of it.

If you don't mind backtracking and using your eyes to spot minature differences, then you'll really enjoy this game. If you're not a fan of the medieval fantasy genre and you are annoyed by those two previous things I mentioned, then this game probably won't be for you. For others like myself who enjoy this sort of thing: Grab it and have a blast.

This game is really really fun. Has minor balance issues but doesn't matter - gets tweaked with each update. 9/10. No tremulous but it has its own gameplay style which is rather nice.
