2026, I've played this game for SEVERAL years. Started out as one of the best multiplayer pvp games I could think of. Truly this game was a hidden gem, and should've prospered to become game of the century. Instead, developers sell out, hardly listened to the fanbase to begin with, and even now goes so far as to delete several negative but truthful comments on discussions, updates, and possibly even reviews.

Idk how you can hate money so much as to ruin such a high potential game, and I'll happily explain how. I'm not a huge 13 or however many year veteran of this game, but I did put substantial hours into this. I lead platoons, ran squads, fought with the best of them, and I can truly say that this game went from being one of the best, to being one of the worst, and somehow longest surviving life support games I've ever seen. I mean it truly became a cash grab.

Cheaters: People who mod and cheat in this game clearly ruin the experience for other players. I don't care if they're ONLY flying a sunderer around in the sky and showing off their "fancy coding skills" which could be productively done elsewhere. It sucks. Don't care. Do it somewhere else. Of course, this makes up 1% of those who ruin this game by modding, such as killing the winning team towards the end of a match, targeting specific players that speak out against it mid game, making some portions of combat unplayable. It's very obvious, very blatant, and even supported by devs at one point, as I'm sure you can google and check that part out yourself.
Cheating in this game is awful and frequent to say the least, and developers don't take active part in moderating anything about it. Only thing done about it is they wait for an account to build up enough reports, and then maybe ban it purely for that reason alone, they have substantial reports in a short amount of time. Get this however, some days they just don't do anything about it period. They go on "break" and on these days, cheaters run free with zero consequence regardless of the report amount. The "cheat menus" are advertised through the game, some of which put the user at privacy and PC damage risk due to malicious crypto mining done by the authors. You have made several several millions of $ and they don't do anything towards fixing any of this.

Cash Grab: Every single customizable skin save maybe 5 items in the whole store require around $5 purchases to be made PER SKIN. There's hundreds of them. It doesn't stop there. Even functional items and upgrades cost money to buy. Oh but sure, yeah you can earn currency to buy these things by playing the game regularly. Let me just hop into a broken hacker ridden game and farm up some currency. Let me sit in a construction vehicle and mine rocks for 100 hours, hidden away on the map, and STILL get hit by hacking. It may be fun for a handful of you to sit there and grind for days to unlock less items than I have fingers on my hand, but to others, that's a huge no, and something that should be clearly recognized by the dev teams. But hey, I can still drive a vehicle and fire my gun for free. Heck, I can even die to cheaters for free, so thanks guys :)

I see these disgusting reviews protecting these guys. It boggles my mind really. How you can sit there and think you actually know what you're talking about if you can't clearly see the pile of lard that holds what could've been a stack of gold honored by a massive growing community. Who cares if it's a veteran or a new player saying this. Everyone should be saying this.

Unwanted updates: Again, devs don't care about the community. Straight up. They push out constant changes that hinder everyone's favorite classes, infiltrator being a big one. No, lets not make them more fun, lets just dull them down to a ball's edge until they're all equally round. Graphics are great tho. Can't knock those old gen console graphics. Oh, lets also update the game to show we're actively here, because lets face it. They're not blind to all this. They SEE these comments. Read these reviews. They update it every month so they can push out a x2 EXP time period, unless they automated it which wouldn't surprise me. Yet they don't fix anything else. They don't put a cent into a good anti cheat. They don't add active moderation, because why the heck would you want to work for these people?? I don't want to work for an employer who is actively trying to make the gaming world centered around this game hate my guts.

Combat: The combat is fr great. There's 2 guns per team that actually do anything. The rest are trash and are for show. What's even worse is you can make your default gun better than every single paid gun in the game, it's ridiculous. This game has been here for 13 years guys, and y'all wanna gripe on No Man's Sky, 7 Days to Die, Cyberpunk for taking a long time to fix their stuff. What's these guy's excuse?? You tell me, I'm ending the review here. Get the game, sure, idc, find your own ruined experience in this mess. I'll go play REAL games and wait for someone to smarten up and make a game like this and not ruin it.

Love this game, despite changes from the original Planetside, Planetside 2 brings a different gameplay take on the open-world MMOFPS. I cannot, however in good conscience recommend playing the game at this time due to random crashing. I simply was checking sales on the store on multiple characters and the game will crash without an error every 2 or 3 minutes or so. Checking system logs states it's a fault and it is the same fault every single time. I have attempted integrity verification and this did nothing to resolve the random crashing. Don't play this now as it will not give a true representation of the game. Wait until they fix their faulting crash issue...

Overall some of the best fps gunplay around. Good variety in the gameplay, you can play as a shooter or support/vehicles. Main issues are the game is dead and every time they do an update, they break something. Right now it crashes very often, forcing you to do some specific workaround.
