Cannot recommend. there's no playerbase.
Good for LAN even though Official servers would be a great addition.
* "Mixed" Review to be updated.

A Great Minigame for the (free) weekends.

Recommendations (on market price):
Set base price at all time lowest 6.49.
Make a 4 pack deal for 12.99.
Makes a higher playerbase and obtain more sales.
Any extra content is a bonus.

It's a unique and functional game reminiscent of Borderlands.
Backwards compatibility would be a bonus as well.

Small Gripe:
* Played on free weekend. unfortunately it just ended sooner than expected, oh well...
"Our Free Weekend is LIVE! This offers a fantastic opportunity for everyone and anyone to jump into Friends vs Friends between now and September 19th to play our game FOR FREE." (Ended September 18th Monday)

Final comments:
I wouldn't pay full price.. getting it on sale is fair , as it could be priced like mini golf games (party games),
for no less than 3$ imo.
* 4v4 would be great as well. (servers)

For when you have an old 80gb hard drive and the game wont allow windows to be installed.
Don't worry tho, u can always use an entire 80gb IDE drive seperately.
Remember: Do NOT open your DVD drive. Learn from other's mistakes.

If you enjoy quake/source games try it.
- works out of the box
- creative and functional elements
- play style is uniquely satisfying
- inexpensive

reminiscent of omikron or half-life 2 for its dystopian city.
> z for aim (omikron has implemented many play style features that combine such 'legacy' hotkeys)
feels like a different game rather than a generic half-life mod.
- health canisters.
- unique environment explosives and grenades.
- some physics puzzles so far utilising wood platforms
- vehicles and good presentation including screens
(considering memory allocation : source)

Cons:
- thirdperson model is invisible, no legs either.
- vehicles and forklifts are static and animated (so far, cannot be driven)

Now forces you to use sign-in like how Overwatch 2 needs you to own a cell phone with service.
I can't even play singleplayer anymore without virtually needing a license to put a DVD in a tray.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.
And no. This is not about Xbox live or bungee sign-in.
This should be a hassle free retail game unlike Minecraft or any MMO that requires sign-in.

Sluggish mechanics meant for controller.
The runner zombies randomly dart out from corners and starts screaming once they see me.
Then the runners flock around me faster than I can even walk or even begin running.
So by then I turn around to discover a detonating zombie happy to see me.

Only recommending no for the Ryker singleplayer on pc.
I doubt it's easier on controller.
You'd have to 'watch your back/run/clear corners' often, only to make sure your grenade doesn't stick to a doorframe.

You can play in a party of 4 and go to point A to B like Left4dead against hordes and special enemies.

Pros
- Well optimised and Great graphics. (Performs well on older systems at the expense of drive space.)
- 40-60$ with all DLCs is a good pricepoint. (The base game became free !)
- Decent Character development compared to l4D

Cons
- Took time to get my bearings:
- Queue with other players as soon as possible after the tutorial. (interactive room)
- UI menus are a bit of a distraction at first.
- Uses lots of disk space (for the end user, download times)
- Uses EasyAntiCheat (for linux/steamos users)

It's a fun "little" casual multiplayer game for when you have 15-20 min to spare.
- There's some progressive elements with the leveling mechanics as well. (loot, characters)
- I'd recommend installing to play for its highest settings with ease. (probably alongside games such as back4blood)

Still recommending to try on free weekend and because I'm new and not quite invested in strategy games.

First impressions
The second the village is behind by one apple it destroys itself, so it won't make any more.
makes sense.
- If there's enough deer to feed an entire village for months, the village abstains itself
because apparently they are vegan and would rather die.
- The 4 or 5 territories next to you is flourishing with life but the games decides that
none of those lands are fertile. So maybe the game expects you to build skyscrapers
and labs to make gmo crops.

Undead enemies (who don't need food) will invade you while your toughest warriors keel over and die
from a tummy ache while bartenders are eating and having fun watching buildings burn down.
And to add a nice cherry on top, the game can decide to infest the entire village food source with plague rats.

And somehow the other factions are expending twice as fast, riding wolves, bringing giants and leaders
towards your plebian village wondering why you don't have a castle yet.

Either
- there's not enough houses: 1/3 buildings needs a woodcutter (Another mouth to feed)
- the village isn't happy even when a new house is built for more population.
'crosses arms, no, I'm not having children unless we get another bar !'
- Most faculties required to sustain a village don't economise food nor is there any space/resources for them.

You make one bad choice or miss one upgrade and you lose everything. On normal mode even.

Value
Don't waste your money, the early dlcs were generic. (forsaken and shadowkeep)
The 100$ witch queen dlc might as well be a third game but instead appears to be part of a f2p model designed to reel in players with an already mundane 'game'. Might be comparable to Diablo Immortal (Whale playerbase).
You're better off spending the money on the Borderlands or Halo franchise.
