I never leave reviews, but for this one I just have to. I tried my hardest to enjoy the base game at the time, haven't touched it in a year and was ready to give the DLC a clean slate.. but here a few of my thoughts after a bottle of wine:

1) For a society that was closed off - how come they have all the same ships, guns (reskined) as the base game and ACCENTS. WHY ARE THERE ACCENTS for some of the NPCs, they have been living in isolation for generations. Nothing about this society feels unique.

2) There are still lots of bugs. I've had to restart the game a few times and load save games to get missions to progress. Feels like not a lot has improved since the launch of the base.

3) The dialogue. The dialogue is sooo boring. Firstly, forgot that you don't have a voice and everything you respond is via text, which isn't a big deal but most of this DLC is dialogue. Every conversation is drawn out so long and never gets to the point. I love lore but I find myself skipping after a few conversations because there is no substance.

4) The Chosen trope again. So over it.

5) I am currently playing Mass Effect for the first time in my life. I've beat the triology and currently playing Andromeda. The Mass Effect world feels way more alive. You see actual conflicts, wars, etc happening in real time. All of the stuff going on in Starfield, and this DLC is just text based. You don't really see a conflict between the 3 houses, you just read about it and go to a dungeon and fight regular dudes. There seems to be a disconnect between what they are talking about and how the world feels - empty, like a single player MMORPG

6) The trailer and DLC description make this seem likes it's going to be some cool, edgy, dark spin off story from the main game. The opening 20 minutes in the Oracle feels cool & different, then you are brought to the planet and suddenly everyone's normal and you are helping people for no reason like always, like helping the old man take care of himself. I expected some cool scary story ala Dead Space or Prey.

7) At no point does this DLC feel challenging. Using guns I had previously just fine, always way too much ammo, healing, etc

8) Small gripe - but I feel like you need digikeys for a lot of the quests but there are only a few available in the "city" and some quests you don't come across any. Why do you need to make doors that are required to enter for a quest locked?

End of wine rants. Long story short, don't buy this unless it's on sale for 5-10 dollars. I think this is the last DLC we will see for this game...

I'm 20 hours into the game (I have a job so I can't play as much as some of the posters here) and have done multiple side quests. From what I can tell, in 20 hours, I have hardly scratched the surface. Seems like there is another 80 hours of quests at least (one activity asks you to grab 30 books from 30 planets alone), and I have not even touched ship building or the outpost builder. This game is super deep with content and lore, everything I wanted in a Skyrim in space game!

Early Access Review
Sometimes I have a hard time connecting to the lore of a fantasy game, this is one of those games for me. "Larf was in the middlefae forest eating twizzlenubs, when he heard narfugs coming from the northern kindgom of Mazgul." I made this up, but not far off from how they present the story. Aside from that, I don't like Normal mode because you have infinite turns which can make you OP very fast. Hard difficulty doesn't have enough turns. I can't find enough time to get enough resources without losing a bunch of soldiers, which leaves my army too small to fight for the objectives at the end. I wish there was a difficulty in between.

This is the worst Diablo rip-off I've ever played. The voice acting is some of the worst I've ever heard. The story is so cliche and childish. It's like it's a script from a children's fantasy book (grade 3 reading level) that has ripped off every other story in it's genre. The gameplay is bland and uninspiring. I'm 4 hours in and I am level 21 and feel I am already half way done. I would not recommend this to anyone. Play Path of Exile if you are into games like this.

Overall score: 2/10

This game is absolute garbage. No matter how sneaky you get into a room, the AI has a magnet that attracts to you as soon as you are in an area that you aren't supposed to be in. For instance, if you see security on the 1st floor the entire time sitting in a chair, you sneak through the vents to a room in the second floor, the security guard just happens to go to the second floor and check in that room. This makes the game completely unfun. 2/10

This game is actually fairly relaxing. i didn't think I'd be into this sort of thing, but I get so into it that I lose focus and can't quit until I finish a picture (some pictures are pretty big). Throw on some This Will Destroy You and lose yourself (the soundtrack is laggy).

9/10
Would give 10/10 with mac support.

Pretty bad game tower defense game. The game tells you were you have to build, you only have 4 tower options (that I know of). It really comes down to placement and which one you upgrade first. I mean when there are only 6 towers on the map for 10 waves of enemies, it's pretty darn boring. Also if you are a 100% completion freak like myself, this game is pretty friggin irritating.

Once I got a decent pattern down of tripplets, I was able to get 15,000 clicks in 3 minutes. I know this because I was racing the microwave as I had put in two pizza pops and set it to three minutes. The pizza pops were pretty good. I got the deluxe ones. I would definitely recommend deluxe pizza pops to anyone.

+ Great taste
+ Large amount of cheese and toppings

- Took 3 minutes

9/10 would eat again

Tried this during the free weekend. Found it incredible boring. I guess it's not for me.
