I have played this game since 2014 and I think this review has been long over due. While I may have gave this game a thumbs up that doesn't mean I recommend this game to everyone. So here it goes.

GTA V is already a classic in the video game industry. Hands down just from the campaign this game is worth it. Everyone knows the story at this point. You know it, I know it let's move on. If you are here to buy this game just for the campaign I would recommend buying it at full price because rockstar does deserve the money from that at least. Though I wouldn't blame you for waiting on a sale to purchase it.

GTA online however is in a different ball game on its own. If there is one key word I can think of that could describe GTA online is that it is very "Grindy." GTA online is where rockstar gets most of their revenue like shark cards that gives a boost in player in in-game money, but let us not talk about that. While it is completely possible for a player to grind up the money to reach more content faster, the process would take ages for you to reach content such as flying bikes, armored vehicles, and a freaking ray gun from space (which is by the way, really fun.) I would also like to remind people that GTA Online does have some what a story driven mission in the form of heists and other missions. At the end of the day GTA online is an open world free roaming mode with no end game goals. Sure the heists are cool and fun but they can only be reached by buying properties that costs staggering amount of money. That's where the grind comes in, and where I think most people are put off by when it comes to the online aspect of GTA.

Bottom line: buy the game for the campaign. Full price or half off. The base price have changed over the years anyway where you can access the game at reasonable price these days. Multiplayer is fine, but don't cry about it for being too grindy or that some content are blocked by a huge pay wall. some people are into grinding, and at the end of the day it's also up to you if you want to buy the micro transactions, you don't really have to. There are a lot of guides in the internet that teaches new players to earn money faster. It takes time but you'll get there. It also just so happen that GTA V comes with GTA online, so you are buying 2 games at the price of 20 or 10 dollars.
