underrated af game, who wants to start a big advertising campaign for this game?

feels a little bit unpolished but holy crap we might actually have a decent kart racer for pc, definitely hope this will succeed and gain a good player base

added ea anti-cheat, cannot play this game on the systems i want to play on anymore

very cool, frequently updated, but lacks a tutorial, gotta figure it out for yourself

if i could pay 5 times for this game i would

I wish steam had a "mixed" review option.

Right now in it's current state, it is an open beta. Performance is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and graphics look like they're from the ps3/ps4 era. The SSD requirement is silly as the game isn't even utilising my whole 32GB of ram to cache the track, and on a hard drive you can tell that parts of the track are unloaded. This feels like a game that was designed for consoles and consoles only at the moment. Some models from much older forzas were also reused, which just screams laziness for a game that has apparently been built "from the ground up". The way they have done account logins is also really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as it totally depends on microsoft store/xbox services, meaning that it'll work half the time and also means that the game is currently not possible to run on linux (maybe people developing wine/proton will figure out some magic way). The career is also extremely lackluster, and the fact that you can only play it while online is just bafflingly stupid.

However, for the positives, the handling feels good especially on a controller, the featured multiplayer is probably the best in any PC simcade game out right now and the penalty system is ok, although it can be wrong or oversensitive in some circumstances. Voice chat is also something I enjoyed... sometimes for the wrong reasons lol. Fuel and tyre management is an important strategy decision too and you can usually have multiple competing strategies in a game which is really fun. One thing that's missing is public custom lobbies, although there is a greyed out "lobby password" option, so hopefully that's at least planned.

In it's current state, this game has a lot of potential, especially for the lackluster simcade PC market, however this feels like an open beta and not a fully released game. It needs to run much better and fix its technical issues before I can truly recommend this game. The foundation is there, but the toppings are not.

Final note: hopefully this isn't going to be like older forza games which get delisted after 5 years lol

Alright, but if the lobby system allowed free hop-in hop-out practice modes (something more akin to gran turismo), switching cars while in the lobby and nicer tuning/UI options then this game would be that bit better for me

shame that will never happen though as the game's dead, hasn't been updated in ages and has been pulled from the store, I'm sure that in a few years the only way to play this game online again will be through... alternative means. I hate modern "driven by money" gaming. Maybe the new forza will fill the simcade hole that this game left behind and deliver on the multiplayer holes that this game had too, but with the current gaming landscape I'm very skeptical.
