Early Access Review
I bought this game when it was super popular and all of my friends were playing it. I rarely get the chance to play anything with my friends anymore, and I often choose not to anyways. I bought this game knowing I was probably only going to play it once, ever, and it was worth every penny. It's a very fun game to play with friends, however alone it seems either too nerve-wracking or boring.

I would say this is a game for fans of the paranormal who have an active group of friends.

Every element of this game has been done before. Traversal like that of Darksiders 2, combat reminiscent of God of War, and physics puzzles that are in almost every action game. What makes this game unique is that every element is tailored to give the player a genuine Star Wars experience.

The parkour in the game is gradually unlocked. You slowly gain new force abilities and upgrades to your droid in order to gain access to new areas, which makes things interesting. There are plenty of action sequences that make the traversal feel more alive and fast paced. Another satisfying feature was that some traversal options weren't glaringly obvious; too many games make traversal elements feel so glaringly obvious that it breaks immersion. I was happy to see that the different environments felt natural for the most part.

The combat is incredible. While the mechanics are very familiar (parry, dodge, roll, attack, strong attack, etc.) they're carried out in such a way that it feels like a new experience. No Star Wars game has ever made me feel more like a Jedi during combat sequences. The combat mechanics are also gradually unlocked through story elements and skill points, keeping it feeling fresh as well as offering a satisfying sense of progression. The blend of force abilities and lightsaber swinging is complimented by fantastic camera angles during takedowns, it's some of the most satisfying combat I've ever experienced.

Puzzles are okay, they at the very least try to make sense within the Star Wars universe but it's nothing special.

The scenery is breathtaking, the backdrop as well as the environment just look great.

The story is very good. It's somewhat a cut and trim Star Wars story, riddled with familiar themes and tropes, but at the very least it has a unique feel to it and the hero's journey is still satisfying to watch unfold. Respawn tried their very best to introduce unique characters and flesh out the story the best they could with how beaten to death the Star Wars franchise is.

My complaints are mostly with cutscene placement. For instance, a couple of cutscenes were triggered after using a savepoint, which was irritating considering I was trying to end my session but got thrown into another 20 minutes of gameplay. Sometimes there were a couple of cutscenes in a row with little gameplay inbetween, which made the story feel too rushed at some points. However, considering how well put together the rest of the game is, this is a trivial mistake.

Overall it is a fantastic action-adventure game and definitely worth picking up while it's on sale, especially if you're a fan of Star Wars and looking for a refreshing new take on the series.

9/10, but it will never be as good as Lego Star Wars :)

As a child, Lego Star Wars was the epitome of video game masterpieces. The poop jokes and silent humor were impeccable. The feeling of attaining True Jedi was enough to give me the amount of midichromosomes needed to force choke my brother into picking the inferior non-jedi characters. I showered myself in my millions of excess studs, my wealth unmatched by the likes of the Rockefellers. My brother and I completed the entire campaign, and later returned to claim every minikit known to man. The red bricks, gold bricks, all ours for the taking. We conquered the Lego Star Wars universe and found every secret, rivaling the heroes such as Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, Watto, Beach Trooper, and the immortal, effervescent Gonk Droid, blessed is his name. My brother and I became true Jedi Masters of old, and retired our PS2 as it's use was expended after completing the complete saga.

After many years of meditation, my brother transcended from this plane of existence after following the Jedi Way and smoking copious amounts of weed. I purchased the game on PC to re-live the glory days of the Old Republic and honor my pothead brother's corporeal existence, only to discover that the perfection that is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga was at best mediocre, and when played alone is ultimately a depressing, bittersweet experience. Double jumping, holding the force button, and grinding out level after level of baby puzzles and spam-hit button boss fights, as well as janky vehicle-only levels, is not as fun when your brain isn't the size of a large grape. The gimmicks and humor of the silent lego characters is reminiscent of watching The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men with no laugh tracks at 4 in the morning. Hearing only the Imperial March loop a dozen times over while searching for a single minikit put me in a delirious state for at least 2 hours.

I must give Lego Star Wars two ratings. With a friend, it is an easy 10/10, as you can perform neat tricks like forcing General Grievous to t-pose, force-push locking each other, picking Gonk Droid, and murdering each other. Alone, it is a 3/10, a harrowing experience that makes you feel empty inside and yearning for your childhood.

Best game in the entire series. It takes the best of it's predecessors and puts them together. All of the strengths, none of the weaknesses.

Pros:
- Good combat
- Good story
- Bonfire travel system improved
- Callbacks to the previous games are great
- Challenging and rewarding
- Beautiful visuals

Cons:
- Over too soon

It's just plain good.
PS: If you do Irina's dark path, you're not only a ♥♥♥♥♥, but a twisted ♥♥♥♥♥.

Worst game in the series, play the first Dark Souls first.

Pros:
- Better controls, jumping is easier
- Easier than 1 and 3
- Can heal without estus or miracles
- Combat is more interesting than first game
- Better looking armors
- Travel with bonfires, huge improvement on the first game

Cons:
- Doesn't feel like a souls game
- Visuals haven't improved since the first Dark Souls
- Final boss is far too easy, as are most bosses
- Refer to last con, simply not challenging enough
- Although it's easier, it takes cheaper shots. More of an annoyance than a challenge.
- Areas aren't as fun as the first game
- Story is almost entirely unrelated to the first game

It isn't a horrible game, but it's the worst in the series. It's worth a play through, but after one time I wouldn't play again.
Try the first one, then the third, and if that isn't enough play this one.
Final note: If you kill Benhart you're a ♥♥♥♥♥.

Pros:
- Interesting Story
- Millions of possible builds
- Huge replay value
- Challenging
- Good combat
- Memorable boss fights
- Good for speedruns
- Challenge runs also good
- Amazing visuals and dark tone
- Cool armor, weapons, enemies
- Open world

Cons
- Anor Londo difficulty spike
- At times unfair
- Have to run ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everywhere
- Blighttown
- Unplayable without a controller
- Worst Con: Publishers intentionally make the game run at low frames on PC to encourage buying it for console
This is fixable though, there is a fix which is easily available and works like magic

Overall a great game, definitely worth playing all the way through at least once.
And remember: if you parry Gwyn you're a ♥♥♥♥♥.

Terraria is an amazing game. It somehow has everything that is great in your favorite games such as:
-Fun boss fights
-A challenging hard mode
-Endless exploration and crafting
-A ton of weapons, spells, and items to upgrade and play around with
-Fishing
-Mining
-Holiday events
Almost anything you can think of. And the game never feels too overwhelming or crowded most of the time, despite the volume of content. Terraria's success can be attributed to its versatility. You can be a warrior, mage, marksman, or all three if you want. It's good alone but great with friends. You can spend hours upon hours customizing a house, or a whole city if you're that into it.

I'm expanding on an old review I made when I was much younger, where I simply said it was the "best game ever" and that "if you're not having fun, you're playing it wrong". Is it the best game? No, but it's pros far outweigh its cons and has a lot to offer. I really don't think there is a "wrong" way to play. No matter what kind of games you're into, I think you can find something to enjoy in Terraria. I don't play much anymore, but it is still one of the best games I have ever played and I can say without a doubt that it is worth buying.
